VASEA is a non-profit organization established in Australia with the aim of promoting cooperation between Australia and Vietnam through academic, research, innovation, and professional connection activities.
The society gathers scholars, researchers, experts, and Vietnamese entrepreneurs living and working across Australia, creating a forum to share knowledge, experience, and contribute to the development of both countries.
During the meeting, VASEA-WA representatives provided an overview of the society's activities in recent times as well as programs planned for the future.
The initiatives focus on connecting academics, experts, and businesses, facilitating cooperative activities in fields such as science and technology, education, high-tech agriculture, biomedicine, innovation, and community development.
Mr. Pham Hai Anh expressed interest and support for VASEA's activities. He stated that Vietnam is currently placing special emphasis on attracting the intellectual resources of overseas Vietnamese to participate in the country's scientific, technological, and innovation development process.
According to him, the community of Vietnamese experts, scholars, and entrepreneurs in Australia possesses valuable experience and expertise, which can make practical contributions to Vietnam's development programs in the new phase.

A prominent topic discussed at the meeting was promoting models of cooperation between universities, businesses, and government agencies. This model has been successfully applied by many developed countries to transfer knowledge from research to practical application, fostering innovation and knowledge-based economic development.
The delegates also shared practical experiences from Western Australia in supporting research, technology startups, and commercializing scientific results.
These experiences can serve as useful references for future cooperation programs between Australia and Vietnam, especially in fields such as biotechnology, healthcare, modern agriculture, energy, and strategic mining.
The meeting took place in the context of the Vietnam-Australia relationship developing strongly across various fields. Previously, Consul General Pham Hai Anh had a working session with the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) office in Western Australia to promote cooperation between Vietnam and the state in education and training, science and technology, trade and investment, energy, strategic minerals, high-tech agriculture, and tourism.
These cooperation orientations have many similarities with VASEA's activities and strengths, opening opportunities for the Vietnamese intellectual and expert community in Australia to engage more deeply in programs of connection, knowledge transfer, and development cooperation between the two countries.
The exchange demonstrated the responsibility and desire of the overseas Vietnamese intellectual community to contribute to their homeland.
