Launch of the Vietnamese Association in Asan, strengthening community bonds in the Republic of Korea
WVR - The establishment of the Vietnamese Association in Asan City (South Chungcheong Province, Republic of Korea) marks a new development for the Vietnamese community in the area, contributing to strengthening solidarity, supporting integration, and promoting Vietnam-Republic of Korea friendship relations.

On July 26, the Vietnamese Association in Asan City, South Chungcheong Province, was officially launched with the attendance of representatives from local authorities, the Vietnamese Embassy in the Republic of Korea, various Vietnamese associations, and a large number of Vietnamese residents, students, and workers in the area.

Attending the ceremony, from the Republic of Korea, were Mr. Jo Chul Ki, Chairman of the South Chungcheong Provincial Council; Mr. Lee Gi Seok, Director of the Asan City Welfare Department; Mr. Kim Hak Min, Chairman of the National Assembly Ethics Advisory Committee, along with representatives from various agencies and organizations. From Vietnam, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thai Binh, Minister Counselor of the Vietnamese Embassy in the Republic of Korea, was present.
In her speech at the ceremony, Minister Counselor Nguyen Thi Thai Binh stated that the establishment of the Vietnamese Association in Asan City is an important milestone, reflecting the growth and cohesion of the Vietnamese community in the area. She expressed thanks to the authorities of South Chungcheong Province, Asan City, and Republic of Korea agencies for their continuous support, enabling Vietnamese people to study, work, live, and integrate with peace of mind.
According to Ms. Nguyen Thi Thai Binh, the community of over 370,000 Vietnamese in the Republic of Korea serves as an important bridge, contributing to the development of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Vietnam and the Republic of Korea. She expressed confidence that the Vietnamese Association in Asan City will become a pillar for the community, as well as an effective bridge between the community, local authorities, and the Vietnamese Embassy.
Representing the local government, South Chungcheong Provincial Council Chairman Jo Chul Ki congratulated the establishment of the Association, affirming that the province will continue to improve policies on employment, welfare, and support for foreigners to help the Vietnamese community stabilize their lives, integrate, and develop locally.
Meanwhile, Mr. Lee Gi Seok, Director of the Asan City Welfare Department, acknowledged the Vietnamese community as an important part of the city's multicultural community.
He hopes the Association will play a connecting role, coordinating with the government to implement activities supporting integration, cultural exchange, and community programs.
Chairman of the National Assembly Ethics Advisory Committee Kim Hak Min also congratulated the Executive Committee of the Association, expressing his hope that the organization will contribute to enhancing people-to-people exchanges, strengthening friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
Representatives of the Executive Committee of the Vietnamese Association in Asan City stated that the establishment of the Association stems from the practical needs of the large number of Vietnamese residents, students, and workers in the area.
In the coming time, the Association will focus on connecting the community, supporting members to stabilize their lives, protecting the legitimate rights and interests of Vietnamese people, and promoting cultural exchange activities, contributing to fostering Vietnam-Republic of Korea friendship relations.
At the ceremony, the Executive Committee of the Vietnamese Association in Asan City was officially launched and received the establishment decision. Leaders of the General Association of Vietnamese in the Republic of Korea and the Vietnamese Association in Chungnam Province affirmed their commitment to accompany and support the Association in effectively playing its role in uniting the community and contributing to the development of Vietnamese people in the Republic of Korea as well as the cooperative relationship between the two nations.
