Favourable foundation for local economic breakthrough
According to the Bac Ninh People's Committee, by 2030, Bac Ninh is projected to have 28 enterprises per 1,000 residents.
Even after accounting for businesses that may dissolve or cease operations, the locality will still have about 26 enterprises per 1,000 residents, thus exceeding the targets set by Resolution 68-NQ/TW.
In the digital economy sector, Bac Ninh ranks among the top two localities nationwide with a digital economy share exceeding 40%, affirming the pivotal role of high-tech industries and information technology in economic development.
Regarding digital infrastructure, according to the latest 2023 Digital Transformation Index, Bac Ninh also achieved a perfect score and ranked fourth in information technology readiness.
Chairman of the Bac Ninh People's Committee Vuong Quoc Tuan stated that the province has recently issued numerous policies to attract investment and improve infrastructure for the development of science, technology, and innovation. Currently, the province hosts 26 organizations and 13 enterprises related to science and technology, contributing to the gradual formation of a startup ecosystem and a science and technology market in the area.

"Bac Ninh is also one of the first localities to issue a resolution supporting the training of high-quality human resources for the semiconductor industry, including policies to support educators, students, and land clearance for educational projects," emphasized Mr. Vuong Quoc Tuan.
Industrial zones and clusters have attracted investments focusing on modern, environmentally friendly technologies with high added value.
The province holds a significant advantage by attracting numerous corporations and enterprises in the semiconductor industry, both domestically and internationally. This provides a favorable foundation for the locality to achieve significant growth, especially in scientific research and the development of high-quality human resources.
According to the Bac Ninh Industrial Park Management Board, industrial zones and clusters have attracted investments focusing on modern, environmentally friendly technologies with high added value. The province holds a significant advantage by attracting numerous corporations and enterprises in the semiconductor industry, both domestically and internationally, such as Amkor, Hana Micron, Micro Commercial Components, ITM Semiconductor, Victory, etc.
This provides a favorable foundation for the locality to achieve significant growth, especially in scientific research and the development of high-quality human resources.

Focusing on building Bac Ninh as a pillar in Vietnam's semiconductor industry ecosystem
In the coming time, the Chairman of the Bac Ninh People's Committee believes the province is determined to realize Resolution 57-NQ/TW through various specific measures.
Among these, the highest priority is given to the development of science, technology, digital transformation, and innovation through strategies for training high-quality human resources in semiconductor, electronics, and pharmaceutical industries, based on attracting talent with special policies.
Efforts are being made to enhance industrial and high-tech infrastructure development in line with the requirements for developing research centers, completing investment attraction for concentrated information technology zones, pharmaceutical industrial zones, and university urban areas.
The province also identifies science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation as one of the key strategic breakthroughs, crucial for rapid and sustainable development. Concurrently, there is a determination to build the province into a pillar in Vietnam's semiconductor industry ecosystem, and one of the leading innovation centers in the country and the region.
During implementation, Bac Ninh prioritizes high-tech fields with the potential to create breakthroughs and high added value. These include the semiconductor industry, identified as a crucial foundation for exceptional growth; artificial intelligence (AI); high-tech agriculture; and technologies serving digital transformation and smart urban development.
In addition to these key areas, the province also identifies several new technology trends, such as advanced chip design, smart manufacturing, developing AI algorithms for production optimization, promoting the application of Big Data, AI, developing clean and renewable energy sources, new material technologies, and advanced manufacturing.
With exceptional efforts, Bac Ninh is poised to make significant strides, turning science, technology, innovation, and digital transformation into new development drivers for the province in the new era.
