Vietnam always supports Laos in pursuing sustainable development: Prime Minister

During the meeting, Prime Minister Chinh expressed his confidence that the Lao Minister will closely cooperate with Vietnam to make the collaboration between the two Ministries increasingly effective and practical, contributing to further deepening the special relationship between the two countries.
The Prime Minister expressed his delight at the unique cooperation between the two countries, which has continued to develop positively and steadily, delving deeper into various areas. Both sides actively implement commitments agreed upon during high-level meetings between the leaders of the two countries, achieving significant results in all fields: politics-diplomacy, defense-security, economy, labor, human resource development, health, culture-society, information and communication, natural resources-environment, science and technology...
The Prime Minister emphasized that the great friendship, special solidarity, and deep trust between the two countries, amidst many geopolitical changes, are irreplaceable and need to be nurtured. Vietnam will always stand by and provide maximum support within its capacity to help Laos continue sustainable development.
Lao Minister of Labour and Social Welfare Phosay Sayasone conveyed the greetings of Lao Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone to Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh; thanked the Prime Minister for his constant attention, direction, and facilitation of cooperation between the Ministry of Labor, Invalids and Social Affairs of Vietnam (now the Ministry of Home Affairs) and the Ministry of Labour and Social Welfare of Laos, as well as the good relations between the two countries.
Minister Phosay Sayasone shared that the two Ministries have a good relationship; they share experiences in building and implementing laws, policies for labor market development, social insurance, management of foreign workers in both countries, overseas labor, and the field of people with meritorious services.
Additionally, the two Ministries closely coordinate during Laos' ASEAN Chairmanship in 2024, with Vietnam supporting Laos' labor and social initiatives, enhancing Laos' role in 2024. During this visit, the ministers had a very successful meeting, agreeing on many important aspects of labor cooperation between the two countries.

Praising the cooperation results in recent times in areas such as human resource training, vocational training, labor, employment, policies for people with meritorious services, social protection, and poverty reduction, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh suggested that the two ministries continue to enhance and closely coordinate in the future.
They should focus on researching and developing new orientations for labor cooperation and people with meritorious services between Vietnam and Laos in the new context, based on which to sign cooperation agreements in this field to strengthen deeper and broader cooperation in areas under the common functions of the two ministries; encourage the maintenance and promotion of existing cooperation mechanisms; enhance information exchange, policy dialogue, and strategic research, especially on new issues arising in a continuously changing world context.
Informing the Minister about Vietnam's construction of 248 boarding schools for primary and secondary education in border communes, including many schools in communes bordering Laos, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh stated that Vietnam is ready to welcome Lao students from border communes to study at these schools.
The Prime Minister proposed that the Ministry of Home Affairs of Vietnam research and enhance technical cooperation, support Lao experts in completing laws and policies on labour and people with meritorious services; strengthen human resource development cooperation to train capable and resilient officials, committed to the friendship between Vietnam and Laos; support Laos in training labor sector personnel through several regional projects, diversify training forms; support the implementation of social protection policies; promote cultural and people-to-people exchanges between the two countries.
Prime Minister Chinh asked the Minister to convey his greetings to General Secretary and President of Laos Thongloun Sisoulith, Prime Minister Sonexay Siphandone, and other senior Lao leaders.
On the occasion of the upcoming 50th National Day of Laos (December 2, 2025), the Prime Minister wishes the Lao people continued success in building and developing the country; achieving the goals of the 11th Congress Resolution of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party and the 9th Five-Year Socio-Economic Development Plan, building a peaceful, independent, democratic, unified, and prosperous Laos.
