Speaking at the event, Consul General Dinh Hoang Linh emphasised the 50-year diplomatic journey between Vietnam and Thailand, built on the foundation of friendship between the two nations. This relationship was illuminated by the high cultural and spiritual values during President Ho Chi Minh's revolutionary activities in Thailand nearly 100 years ago, from July 1928 to November 1929.

Inheriting President Ho Chi Minh's legacy, the Vietnamese expatriate community plays a pivotal role as a bridge connecting the people of both countries, continuing to foster and build a strong and enduring Vietnam - Thailand friendship and cooperation.

On August 6, 1976, Vietnam and Thailand officially established diplomatic relations. In June 2013, the two countries established a Strategic Partnership. By May 2025, the Vietnam - Thailand relationship will be elevated to a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

Commenting on the young generation of both countries, Consul General Dinh Hoang Linh praised the similarities: Despite integrating into the modern world, the youth of both nations still preserve traditional cultural values, valuing family and community; they also maintain a sense of responsibility to contribute and serve their homeland and people.

In response to the question of what needs to be done to further develop Vietnam - Thailand relations, Consul General Dinh Hoang Linh emphasized that the young generation of both countries will determine the future landscape of Vietnam - Thailand relations in the coming decades.

The exchanges and friendships among today's youth are the foundation for future cooperation between the two countries to flourish and bear fruit.

The move by CAS to inaugurate the Vietnam Studies Center also demonstrates their affection for Vietnam. The enthusiastic participation of Thai students will make a practical contribution to the bilateral relationship.

In this spirit, Consul General Dinh Hoang Linh invited 50 CAS students to join the Vietnamese Ao Dai parade at the Vietnam Cultural Day as part of the Sithan International Festival 2026. The event, themed to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam - Thailand diplomatic relations (1976-2026), will take place from November 22-24 at Khon Kaen University.
