Hanoi City: Numerous programs for citizens and tourists to welcome the New Year 2026

Three events are ready to welcome the New Year 2026 in Hanoi.

LAUNCH OF HO GUOM - THAP RUA ART LIGHTING SPACE

On the evening of December 24, 2025, at Hoan Kiem Lake, the People's Committee of Hoan Kiem Ward organised the Launch Ceremony of Ho Guom - Thap Rua Art Lighting Space. The event was supported by THACO AUTO and Vietsoftpro. This marks the beginning of a series of cultural and artistic programs by Hanoi to welcome the 2026 New Year, serving the citizens of the capital and both domestic and international tourists.

The Ho Guom - Thap Rua Art Lighting Space aims to serve the community by creating an additional cultural and artistic night destination during the year-end holidays, enriching the spiritual lives of citizens and enhancing the visitor experience. Light is chosen as a contemporary art language, making public spaces more vibrant and attractive, while spreading the image of a friendly, creative, and culturally rich Hanoi.

The lighting plan is designed with a modern spirit, suitable for the festive atmosphere of Christmas and New Year, bringing warm, fresh emotions to welcome the new year. The entire lighting solution has been meticulously researched in terms of colour, intensity, and movement, ensuring harmony with the special cultural and historical spaces of Ho Guom and Thap Rua. This preserves the symbolic value and cultural depth of the capital's centre, while opening connections between history, the present, and contemporary life. This approach both honours the heritage in a respectful manner and brings new, close emotions to citizens and tourists visiting Ho Guom during the holidays. Hanoi's efforts also include preserving and promoting heritage values through creative forms, aligning with sustainable development trends and community-centric approaches.

The Ho Guom - Thap Rua Art Lighting Space will be displayed every evening, continuously from December 24, 2025, to January 4, 2026, serving citizens and tourists free of charge. The organisation, during this timeframe, aims to create a peaceful, warm festive atmosphere during Christmas and New Year, while ensuring harmony with urban living, management, and heritage preservation.

The Ho Guom - Thap Rua Art Lighting Space is expected to become a community cultural highlight at night, contributing to building the image of Ho Guom as a living heritage space, close to the people, attractive to tourists, and in line with Hanoi's development orientation as a creative city for people and the community.

Hanoi City: Numerous programs for citizens and tourists to welcome the New Year 2026

LAUNCH OF DIGITAL EXHIBITION SPACE "RADIANT HANOI - LIGHT AND HERITAGE"

On the evening of December 26, 2025, at the Exhibition House 93 Dinh Tien Hoang, Hoan Kiem, Hanoi, the digital exhibition space "Radiant Hanoi - Light and Heritage" officially opened to the public. The event is one of Hanoi's prominent cultural and artistic activities in a series of programs to welcome the 2026 New Year, serving the citizens of the capital and both domestic and international tourists.

The digital exhibition space "Radiant Hanoi – Light and Heritage" is organised with the goal of bringing the cultural heritage of Thang Long – Hanoi closer to the public through the language of digital technology and contemporary art. The exhibition employs digital projection solutions, lighting, interaction, and multimedia technology to vividly and emotionally narrate the stories of Hanoi's history, memories, and cultural life.

Unlike traditional displays, the exhibition is built with the spirit of "living heritage", where the public not only observes but also directly participates, interacts, and experiences. This is the first time Hanoi's history and cultural heritage are presented in an exhibition that utilises modern digital technology, including 3D mapping, Immersive Experiences, LED kinetic displays, Wall Interactive Elements, and VR.

In the exhibition space, light serves not only as illumination but also as the primary artistic element, guiding viewers' emotions and creating a seamless experience flow. The application of technology is selectively and moderately implemented to ensure aesthetic harmony, cultural depth, and suitability with the heritage space in the city's centre.

The exhibition content focuses on honouring the core values that comprise Hanoi's identity: its thousand-year historical depth, distinctive urban space, folk cultural life, and the development aspirations of a dynamic, creative capital in the digital era. Through multi-sensory experiences, the exhibition enables the public, particularly the younger generation and international tourists, to approach heritage in a more accessible, perceptible, and emotionally rich manner.

A representative of the Organising Committee shared that the digital exhibition space "Radiant Hanoi – Light and Heritage" is not only a destination for visits and experiences during the year-end holidays but also an experiment in innovating approaches and spreading Hanoi's cultural heritage values using the language of the era.

Through this activity, the Organising Committee hopes that the exhibition will become a cultural and artistic highlight in the capital's centre at the end of the year, contributing to building Hanoi's image as a city rich in tradition, dynamic, creative, friendly, and open to both domestic and international audiences.

The digital exhibition space "Radiant Hanoi - Light and Heritage" will open free of charge to serve citizens and tourists on the occasion of welcoming the new year 2026.
