The event was attended by Vietnamese Consul General in Khon Kaen, Thailand, Dinh Hoang Linh and his spouse; Ms. Thaphatrada Thaninjiranon, Deputy Governor of Kalasin Province, and her husband Mr. Kiratinkan Phimphanit, Mayor of Kalasin Central District; Mr. Tran Xuan Muoi, Advisor to the Vietnamese Association in Thailand; Mr. Le Van Hoa, Chairman of the Thai-Vietnamese Association, along with over 300 local expatriates and Thai citizens.
In his speech at the celebration, Consul General Dinh Hoang Linh emphasised that this occasion is an opportunity to reflect on the glorious and heroic history of the Vietnamese nation, to pay tribute to the great contributions of President Ho Chi Minh and previous generations, and to continue fostering the solidarity and friendship between Vietnam and Thailand as the two countries celebrate 50 years of diplomatic relations.
Over the course of 81 years, Vietnam has continuously strived to achieve significant accomplishments, actively engaging in international integration, developing its economy, expanding foreign relations, and increasingly asserting its role and position in the region and on the international stage.
The successful 14th National Party Congress has ushered in a new era – an era of national resurgence aiming to realize the aspiration of building a peaceful, independent, democratic, prosperous, and civilized Vietnam. In this important journey, Vietnam wishes to continue promoting the comprehensive strategic partnership with Thailand in a deep and substantive manner for the benefit of the peoples of both countries.
On the occasion of the 18th anniversary of the establishment of the Thai-Vietnamese Association in Kalasin Province, Consul General Dinh Hoang Linh extended his best wishes to the association's executive committee and the entire local expatriate community.

Consul General Dinh Hoang Linh expressed confidence that the Vietnamese community in Thailand, including those in Kalasin, will strive to be a bridge of friendship between Vietnam and Thailand, preserving and spreading the traditions of solidarity, cultural identity, human values, history, and the Vietnamese language to future generations.
Through this, they will build a civilized, dynamic, responsible, and culturally rich Vietnamese community, affirming their role as a strategic resource contributing to enhancing the nation's overall strength, as embodied in the spirit of the Politburo's Resolution No. 23 on the work of overseas Vietnamese.
The Vietnamese community in Kalasin consists of nearly 500 people. They possess a strong patriotic spirit and deep respect for President Ho Chi Minh. Over the years, the association has engaged in numerous activities to preserve the cultural identity and fine traditions of the nation, while also launching meaningful initiatives directed towards their homeland.
However, the association is also facing challenges such as aging leadership without a successor generation. The local social environment does not yet motivate young expatriates to learn and use the Vietnamese language.

Addressing these challenges, Consul General Dinh Hoang Linh called on the Thai-Vietnamese Association in Kalasin Province to encourage young expatriates to participate in the association's activities. He also suggested initiating a movement to speak Vietnamese within families, similar to other localities in Northeastern Thailand.
Based on the community's aspirations, the Consulate General is ready to promote and collaborate with local authorities to introduce Vietnamese language teaching in schools within the province.
