Celebrating Egypt’s 74th National Day: Vietnam reaffirms commitment to strengthening Comprehensive Partnership
WVR - On the evening of July 23, in Hanoi, the Egyptian Embassy in Vietnam solemnly organized the celebration of the 74th anniversary of Egypt's National Day (July 23, 1952 - July 23, 2026). Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Hang attended and delivered a speech at the ceremony.

In her speech, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Hang extended congratulations to the Government and people of Egypt, emphasizing that the July 23 Revolution marks a significant historical milestone, not only ushering in a new era for Egypt but also inspiring the independence struggles of many nations.
From the Bandung Conference in 1955 to the Non-Aligned Movement, Egypt has always been at the forefront of promoting Afro-Asian solidarity, upholding the principles of independence, sovereignty, and self-determination of nations – values that Vietnam deeply cherishes and pursues.
Appreciating Egypt's developmental achievements in recent times, the Deputy Minister highlighted the notable outcomes in economic reform, infrastructure modernization, energy development, and the implementation of Egypt Vision 2030, which have laid a solid foundation for sustainable development.
Vietnam also acknowledges and highly values Egypt's role in promoting dialogue, conflict resolution, and contributing positively to regional peace and stability.

Regarding bilateral relations, the Deputy Minister affirmed that Vietnam always values its traditional friendship with Egypt. She recalled the historical significance when President Ho Chi Minh visited Egypt multiple times and, together with President Gamal Abdel Nasser, laid the foundation for the friendship between the two countries.
Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Hang emphasised that the elevation of Vietnam-Egypt relations to a Comprehensive Partnership in 2025 is a crucial turning point, opening a new phase of cooperation.
The Deputy Minister expressed confidence that the Comprehensive Partnership will continue to grow robustly, bringing tangible benefits to the people of both nations, while contributing to peace, stability, and prosperity in the region and the world.

In his speech, Egyptian Ambassador to Vietnam Mohamed Mostafa Hassan emphasised that the July 23rd Revolution was not merely a domestic political transition it was a profound historical turning point that permanently reshaped the geopolitical landscape of the Global South. The Ambassador underlined that there is "a natural, deeply rooted connection between Egypt and the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. The historic ties between our two nations were forged in the crucible of the mid-20th century, championed by the vision of Egypt's late President Gamal Abdel Nasser and Vietnam’s legendary leader President Ho Chi Minh."
Ambassador Mohamed Mostafa Hassan stressed that in the complexities of the 21st century, this historical solidarity has successfully transformed into a vibrant, multifaceted modern partnership. The two countries are no longer just bound by the past, however, they are actively building a shared, prosperous future.
In recent years, bilateral relations between the two countries have continued to develop strongly through high-level visits and the stable growth of trade turnover.
According to the Ambassador, both countries are striving to remove trade barriers, leveraging Egypt's role as a gateway for Vietnamese goods to access African and Middle Eastern markets, while viewing Vietnam as an important partner of Egypt in ASEAN.
Addressing the global challenges such as economic fluctuations, supply chain disruptions, and climate change, the Ambassador stated that no country can tackle global issues alone.
He affirmed that Egypt and Vietnam share a commitment to multilateralism, respect for international law, peaceful resolution of disputes, and the promotion of sustainable development.
The Ambassador expressed a desire to continue strengthening cooperation with Vietnam as Egypt implements the "New Republic" program, focusing on infrastructure development, smart cities, clean energy transition, and economic reform.
The Ambassador also highly appreciated Vietnam's economic development and industrialization achievements, expressing confidence that both countries will continue to effectively exploit their cooperation potential, aiming for increasingly substantive and effective partnerships.
