Friendship Football Tournament celebrating National Day in Slovakia: Promoting unity among the Vietnamese community
WVR - On September 6, from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., at Pekna Cesta Stadium, the Vietnamese Embassy in Slovakia, in collaboration with the Vietnamese Association in Slovakia, organized a Friendship Football Tournament to celebrate National Day. The event featured teams from various localities in Slovakia.

The tournament was not only a sporting event aimed at creating a healthy and beneficial playground for the Vietnamese community in Slovakia, but also an opportunity for people to meet, interact, and strengthen solidarity, attachment, and connection to their homeland. The event took place in the context of Vietnam-Slovakia relations being upgraded to a Strategic Partnership, marking a new phase of development in the friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
Exciting matches of unity
The tournament unfolded in an exciting and enthusiastic atmosphere with the participation of four Vietnamese community teams in Slovakia, including FC Viet Bratislava, FC Hai Phong SK, FC Dam Me Levice, and FC AE Zilina.
The teams competed in a round-robin format. With a spirit of high sportsmanship, the players delivered thrilling, intense, yet fair-play matches to the audience.
On the field, players gave their all for the colors of their teams. Off the field, the enthusiastic support from the community created a vibrant atmosphere, making the tournament truly a sports festival for the Vietnamese community in Slovakia.
After a day of competition with six highly dramatic and intense matches, FC Viet Bratislava emerged as the champion with 7 points from two wins and one draw. FC Hai Phong SK secured second place with 4 points from one win and one draw. FC Dam Me Levice earned 3 points, and FC AE Zilina gained 1 point, both receiving joint third place.

Sports uniting the community, spreading friendship
Speaking about the significance of the tournament, Ambassador Pham Truong Giang remarked that the event goes beyond just competition and rivalry. More importantly, it creates a space for interaction and connection among associations, teams, and the Vietnamese community living, studying, and working in Slovakia.
Through sports activities, the spirit of solidarity, mutual support, and bonding within the community continues to be strengthened. The matches on the field also serve as a bridge for people from different localities to meet, share, and engage in meaningful community activities.

Notably, the tournament holds additional significance as it is organized in the year Vietnam and Slovakia established a Strategic Partnership, adding a highlight to people-to-people exchanges and contributing to deepening the friendship between the two countries.
