Celebrating Vietnam’s 81st National Day in Turkey: Highlighting historical and cultural ties between the two nations
WVR - On August 31, at the Ankara Ethnography Museum, the Vietnamese Embassy in Turkey organized a ceremony to commemorate the 81st National Day (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2026).

The event left a profound impression with its sacred historical setting, unique artistic program, and traditional culinary space rich in national identity.
The ceremony was attended by Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister Berris Ekinci, numerous ambassadors in Ankara, representatives from the Parliament, various ministries, localities, and the Vietnamese community in Turkey.
Held at the Ankara Ethnography Museum—a historical site on Namazgâh Hill—the ceremony evoked great emotion among the attendees.
This venue not only preserves the cultural essence, spirit, and long-standing identity of the legendary Anatolian land but also served as the first resting place of Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.

In her speech at the ceremony, Vietnamese Ambassador to Turkey Dang Thi Thu Ha emotionally recalled the strong spiritual bond between Vietnam's great leader Ho Chi Minh and Turkey's Leader Mustafa Kemal Atatürk.
While Leader Atatürk left an immortal legacy of “Peace at home, peace in the world”, President Ho Chi Minh affirmed the truth that “Nothing is more precious than independence and freedom”. This spirit is an invisible yet solid bridge connecting the two nations across generations.
Reflecting on the cooperation since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1978, the Ambassador affirmed that bilateral relations are developing robustly and substantively across various fields, especially in politics-diplomacy, economy-trade, and defense-security. She also congratulated Turkey on officially becoming an ASEAN Dialogue Partner.

At the ceremony, Turkish Deputy Foreign Minister Berris Ekinci delivered a congratulatory speech, affirming the profound historical significance of this important day for the Vietnamese people. She emphasized the strong traditional friendship and multifaceted cooperation between Vietnam and Turkey, which is developing robustly and substantively.

The Deputy Minister highly appreciated Vietnam's impressive socio-economic achievements and its increasingly elevated international standing. She affirmed that Turkey always values strengthening political trust and is ready to closely cooperate with Vietnam to fully exploit the potential for cooperation in key areas.
Ms. Ekinci expressed confidence in the sustainable future development of the partnership between the two countries and extended wishes for peace and prosperity to Vietnam and its people.

Notably, culinary artisans from the Vietnam Culinary Association introduced traditional Vietnamese cuisine to international friends and overseas Vietnamese with dishes such as pho, banh mi, spring rolls, and nem lui.
Within the framework of the event, guests enjoyed a unique cultural exchange art program combining classical music, Vietnamese folk songs, and Turkish melodies, performed by Meritorious Artist Thanh Loan and pianists Manh Piano and Phi Phi.

The ceremony concluded in a warm atmosphere of friendship as artists and all delegates joined in a moving and united rendition of the song Nhu co Bac Ho trong ngay dai thang.

On this occasion, the twin towers of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB) in the capital Ankara were brightly illuminated with the image of the red flag with a yellow star.
The prominent presence of the Vietnamese national flag on Turkey's leading economic symbol not only serves as a warm congratulation to Vietnam and its people but also vividly demonstrates the increasingly close and positive development of the multifaceted friendship and cooperation between the two nations.
