During the meeting, Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang welcomed and highly appreciated the delegation's visit; affirming that Vietnam and France share many special historical and cultural ties. She emphasized that despite past ups and downs, the relationship between the two countries has now reached new heights, becoming a model of strategic partnership as France was the first EU country with which Vietnam established a comprehensive strategic partnership.
The Deputy Minister affirmed that Vietnam always values its cooperative relationship with France and expressed delight at the positive developments in bilateral relations across all fields, with significant contributions from the legislative bodies of both countries.

Appreciating the traditional cooperation marked by France in Vietnam in fields such as transportation infrastructure, industry, and healthcare, the Deputy Minister suggested that both sides continue to enhance contacts, exchange delegations at all levels and channels, and further promote the economic-trade cooperation pillar, jointly advancing symbolic projects in Vietnam-France relations.
Deputy Minister Le Thi Thu Hang urged the French Parliament to promptly ratify the EU-Vietnam Investment Protection Agreement (EVIPA) and support the European Commission (EC) in swiftly removing the IUU "yellow card" on Vietnamese seafood.
Additionally, the Deputy Minister hopes that French parliamentarians will support enhancing people-to-people exchanges, local cooperation, and soon agree on the plan to organize the 13th Vietnam-France Local Cooperation Conference in France.
For his part, Chairman Jean-Michel Jacques expressed his pleasure in visiting Vietnam amid the thriving comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries. He emphasized that the Vietnam-France relationship is unique and special, built on a shared historical foundation, and praised the Vietnamese people for their admirable qualities.

Amid complex international developments, Mr. Jean-Michel Jacques suggested that the two countries continue to strengthen comprehensive cooperation from economy, agriculture, and culture to strategic fields.
Chairman Jean-Michel Jacques affirmed that French parliamentarians support the prompt ratification of EVIPA and the EC's removal of the IUU "yellow card", as well as the effective implementation of the Vietnam-France comprehensive strategic partnership.
Appreciating the positive contributions of the Vietnamese community in France, Mr. Jean-Michel Jacques affirmed that French parliamentarians, especially the France-Vietnam Friendship Group, are ready to actively support and promote people-to-people exchanges, cultural connections, and enhance cooperation between localities of the two countries.
Both sides agreed to make defense-security one of the important pillars in bilateral relations, with cooperation activities in UN peacekeeping, rescue, disaster relief, and officer training. They reiterated the importance of ensuring peace, stability, security, safety, and freedom of navigation and overflight in maritime areas, including the East Sea, resolving disputes by peaceful means in accordance with international law, and the United Nations Convention on the Law of the Sea 1982 (UNCLOS 1982).
