At the invitation of Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung, Croatian Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlic Radman will pay an official visit to Vietnam from May 17 to May 19.
Vietnam and Croatia established diplomatic relations on July 1, 1994.
Over the past three decades, Vietnam-Croatia relations have developed positively, expanding across various fields. In political-diplomatic terms, both sides have maintained exchanges of delegations at all levels. Croatian President Stjepan Mesic visited Vietnam in 2008, with the most recent official visit being by Vice President Vo Thi Anh Xuan to Croatia (October 2022).
High-level leaders of both countries frequently meet on the sidelines of multilateral forums.
Most recently, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh met with the Croatian Prime Minister on the sidelines of the ASEAN-EU 45th anniversary summit in Brussels (December 2022); Minister of Foreign Affairs Bui Thanh Son met with Croatia's Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Gordan Grlic Radman on the sidelines of the OECD meeting in France (May 2024). Both sides conducted deputy ministerial-level political consultations in Zagreb (March 2024).
Vietnam and Croatia actively coordinate on regional and international issues of mutual concern, consistently supporting each other at multilateral forums such as the United Nations, and jointly promoting the robust development of the ASEAN-EU strategic partnership.
The two sides have signed numerous important agreements providing a legal framework for cooperation and development of bilateral relations, particularly in diplomacy, economy, and trade.
