During the meeting, Foreign Minister Trung expressed his delight at the strong development of the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and the Republic of Korea. Sharing information on some major goals and development directions approved at the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam, Minister Trung affirmed that in its foreign policy, Vietnam always values its relationship with the Republic of Korea and hopes that the Republic of Korea will accompany Vietnam in implementing the goals set out at the recent 14th Party Congress.

Foreign Minister Trung emphasized that in the context of rapidly changing and unpredictable regional and international situations, both sides need to strive to enhance the effectiveness of cooperation and jointly promote the development of bilateral trade in a balanced and sustainable manner; facilitating the opening of import-export markets for each other's goods.

The Foreign Minister appreciated the contributions of Korean businesses and economic organizations to Vietnam's socio-economic development; he hopes that Korean enterprises will continue to expand their investment scale in fields that Vietnam is prioritizing for development; strengthen cooperation in science and technology, innovation, and digital transformation, creating a driving force for Vietnam's socio-economic development.

On this occasion, Foreign Minister Trung expressed thanks to the Government of the Republic of Korea for supporting the Vietnam-Korea Institute of Science and Technology (VKIST) project; he also requested that the Government of the Republic of Korea continue to promote vocational policies for Vietnamese workers after their employment period in the Republic of Korea ends.

RoK First Vice Foreign Minister Park Yoon Joo emphasized that the two countries have truly become reliable and close partners in many fields; he affirmed that the Republic of Korea is ready to accompany Vietnam in implementing its socio-economic development goals; he hopes that the Government of Vietnam will continue to pay attention and provide support for Korean businesses to expand their investments and enhance the efficiency of their long-term business operations in Vietnam.

Both sides agreed that the Foreign Ministries of the two countries will continue to work closely on regional and international issues of mutual concern, especially in the context of the rapidly changing and unpredictable situation; actively contributing to maintaining peace, stability, cooperation, and development in the region and the world.

During the visit to Vietnam from April 2-3, First Vice Foreign Ministe Park Yoon Joo held talks with Party Central Committee Member and Permanent Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Vu on the morning of April 3, 2026.
