Politburo Member, Foreign Minister Le Hoai Trung hosts reception for delegates attending ASEAN Future Forum 2026
WVR - On the evening of June 8 in Hanoi, Politburo Member, Party Secretary of the Ministry, and Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung hosted a reception welcoming delegates attending the ASEAN Future Forum 2026 (AFF 2026).

The event was attended by leaders from various countries and international organizations, leaders of political parties in Southeast Asia, representatives from ASEAN cities, scholars, businesses interested in ASEAN, diplomatic missions in Vietnam, and leaders from Vietnam's ministries, departments, and localities.
In his speech at the reception, Politburo Member and Minister of Foreign Affairs Le Hoai Trung emphasized that the ASEAN Future Forum, initiated and organized by Vietnam, aims to contribute to the collective efforts of building a united, friendly, and effectively cooperative ASEAN Community. The presence of the delegates is a testament to the solidarity, friendship, and strong ties among ASEAN member countries as well as between ASEAN and its international partners and friends.

According to Minister Le Hoai Trung, this is also an important encouragement for AFF to continue developing into a meaningful dialogue platform, complementing ASEAN's official cooperation processes. The Minister expressed hope that discussions at the Forum would contribute to promoting solidarity, enhancing the ability to bridge differences, and maintaining dialogue and cooperation in a world facing many upheavals and challenges.
The Minister stated that AFF 2026 will be a space to promote substantive exchanges, helping parties better identify common challenges while seeking creative solutions towards a peaceful, prosperous, and people-centered ASEAN Community – in line with this year's Forum theme and the priorities of the Philippines as ASEAN Chair in 2026.

Affirming the increasingly important role of AFF, the Minister emphasized that the Forum will continue to accompany ASEAN member countries and dialogue mechanisms, contributing to deepening regional cooperation. It is also a place where ideas, initiatives, and commitments to cooperation among ASEAN countries, international partners, scholars, and the business community are transformed into practical drivers for the ASEAN Community building process.
Minister Le Hoai Trung expressed his hope that the unique artistic performances from ASEAN countries and the essence of Vietnamese cuisine at the Gala Dinner would enhance mutual understanding and further strengthen the friendship among ASEAN member countries as well as between ASEAN and its international partners and friends.
On this occasion, the Minister invited the delegates to raise their glasses to celebrate the enduring friendship among ASEAN countries and partners, wishing the third ASEAN Future Forum great success, and extending wishes of health, happiness, and success to all the delegates present.
