Consular Acceptance Certificate presented to Norway’s Honorary Consul in Ho Chi Minh City
WVR - On March 5, Director General of the Consular Department Doan Hoang Minh presented the Consular Acceptance Certificate to Mr. Jonas Ringstad, Honorary Consul of the Kingdom of Norway in Ho Chi Minh City.

Speaking at the ceremony, Director General Doan Hoang Minh congratulated Mr. Jonas Ringstad on his new position, expressing confidence that with his experience in investment and trade, the new Honorary Consul will further enhance bilateral cooperation, particularly in consular relations, especially in the year marking the 55th anniversary of diplomatic relations between the two countries (1971-2026).
The Director General emphasized that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, including Consular Department and the Department of Foreign Affairs of Ho Chi Minh City,) along with Vietnamese authorities will continue to support the Honorary Consul and facilitate his successful term in Vietnam.
Director General Doan Hoang Minh also requested that Norway continue to facilitate exchanges and travel between the two countries and actively cooperate in priority areas such as economy, trade, investment, renewable energy, people-to-people exchange, and education and training.
For his part, Mr. Jonas Ringstad thanked Director General Doãn Hoàng Minh for taking the time to meet and present the Consular Acceptance Certificate.
In discussions, Mr. Jonas Ringstad expressed delight at the positive developments in bilateral relations and appreciated the support provided by Vietnamese authorities to Norwegian representatives and citizens in Vietnam.
The new Honorary Consul affirmed his commitment to promoting bilateral relations in areas of mutual interest, including consular cooperation.
