Director General Le Cong Dung receives copy of Credentials from French Ambassador

During the reception, Director General Le Cong Dung congratulated Ambassador Didier Le Bret on his appointment in Vietnam, expressing confidence that the Ambassador will have a successful term, contributing to the increasingly deep, substantive, and effective development of Vietnam-France relations.

Referring to the official visit to the Republic of France by General Secretary and President To Lam and his spouse from September 10-11, Director General Le Cong Dung assessed the visit as successful, achieving many important results and adding momentum to Vietnam-France relations in the new phase.

Director General Le Cong Dung expressed his hope that Ambassador Didier Le Bret will closely coordinate with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and various Vietnamese agencies and localities, contributing to the substantive implementation of agreements and results achieved, bringing tangible outcomes to the bilateral relations.

For his part, Ambassador Didier Le Bret expressed his honour to be appointed in Vietnam and affirmed his commitment to promoting Vietnam-France relations based on the framework of a comprehensive strategic partnership that is increasingly deep, effective, and substantive, benefiting the people of both countries while contributing to peace, stability, cooperation, and development.

Ambassador Didier Le Bret has over 30 years of experience in the French diplomatic sector, having held positions at the French Ministry of Foreign Affairs. These include Reinforcement Officer in the Personnel Department (2016-2017), Senior Associate at ESL&Network (2017-2022), Director General of Globalization, Culture, Education, and International Development, and then Director General of Administration and Modernization (2022-2024). From July 2024 to September 2026, Didier Le Bret served as Director of the French Diplomatic and Consular Academy.

With extensive experience in bilateral and multilateral diplomacy, crisis management, and diplomatic staff training, Ambassador Didier Le Bret was appointed as the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of France to Vietnam from September 2026.
