Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Foreign Minister Le Thi Thu Hang congratulated Ms. Vonekham Cheuangmanivong on her new assignment in Vietnam during a historically significant time as the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam takes place. She expressed confidence that, with her extensive experience, the Consul General will make significant contributions to further nurturing the "great friendship, special solidarity, comprehensive cooperation, and strategic connection between Vietnam and Laos" as agreed upon by the high-level leaders of both countries during the State visit to Laos by General Secretary To Lam, his spouse, and the high-level Vietnamese delegation last December (December 1-2, 2025).

The Deputy Minister affirmed that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and relevant Vietnamese agencies will always accompany, support, and facilitate the Consul General in successfully completing her term.

In discussions, Deputy Foreign Minister Le Thi Thu Hang congratulated the success of the 12th National Congress of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party. She also expressed gratitude to Laos for their continuous support, enabling the Vietnamese community to live stably, integrate well, and contribute positively to the friendship between the two countries.

Praising the significance of the Consular Consultation mechanism and exchanges on consular work, citizen protection, and expatriate affairs, the Deputy Minister suggested that the two Ministries of Foreign Affairs continue to closely coordinate, maintain, and enhance the effectiveness of this mechanism for the legitimate rights and interests of the people of both nations.
