The event was attended by Kwon Jae Haeng, Director of the Republic of Korea Multicultural Foundation, Cheon Do Young, Director of the KVCC Center, the Chairman of the Dalseo District Council, local legislators, businesses from Daegu City, and several Vietnamese and Republic of Korea collectors.
Speaking at the event, Consul General Doan Phuong Lan expressed appreciation for the event and affirmed that culture and art are the closest paths for us to understand, feel, and come closer to each other.
The Vietnam-Korea Art Space not only displays works by artists from both countries but also serves as a vivid testament to the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Vietnam and the Republic of Korea. This relationship must be nurtured through understanding, sharing, and trust.
Besides its role as a cultural bridge, Doan Phuong Lan particularly praised the Republic of Korea Multicultural Foundation for persistently implementing charitable programs, supporting healthcare, education, children, and multicultural communities, including the Vietnamese community in Daegu.
This humanitarian significance is also clearly reflected in the organizers' announcement to donate a portion of the proceeds from the sale of artworks at the exhibition to the "1004 Beds Project", aimed at providing sleeping spaces and hope for children in the mountainous region of Ha Giang Province, Vietnam.
Consul General Doan Phuong Lan affirmed that the Vietnamese Consulate General in Busan will closely coordinate with the Association and KVCC Center to organize more meaningful activities for the community. She also hopes that KVCC will become a familiar place for people from both countries to meet, learn, and build new friendships and cooperation opportunities, believing that "from today's small space, many larger connections will be opened".
Seo Min-woo, Chairman of the Dalseo District Council, affirmed continued support for activities assisting multicultural families, including Korean-Vietnamese families, especially promotional activities to help Korean-Vietnamese children better understand Vietnamese culture and art, thereby strengthening their emotional ties to their homeland.
Kwon Jae-haeng, Chairman of the Republic of Korea Multicultural Foundation, emphasized that the participation of the Vietnamese Consul General, along with numerous representatives from local legislators, businesses, and Vietnamese collectors at the event, is a meaningful testament to the friendship and mutual trust between the two sides. He affirmed efforts to promote the activities of the Republic of Korea Multicultural Foundation and KVCC through the vision of using culture and art as a catalyst to connect people from both sides, while committing to building a sustainable exchange platform to help future generations grow and thrive together.
Jeon Do-young, Director of the Korea-Vietnam Cultural Exchange Center KVCC, affirmed that KVCC will develop as a complex exchange platform, not only limited to pure cultural and artistic exchanges. The center will expand significantly into exhibition, education, and business cooperation areas.
On this occasion, Consul General Doan Phuong Lan presented the Korea-Vietnam Cultural Exchange Center with a painting created by Vietnamese disabled children from the Vun Art group using fabric scraps.
The painting expresses the dreams of the children, aiming to convey the message that the cultural heritage and friendship between the two countries will always grow and strengthen through the image of two girls holding hands, national flowers, and traditional costumes of the two nations.
