During the meeting, Consul General Bui Nguyen Long introduced the new socio-economic development policies and guidelines of the Party and State of Vietnam, particularly the resolutions on the development of science, technology, and digital transformation, and international integration in the new context.

He also emphasized the Vietnamese government's determination to boost the economy to achieve “double-digit” growth, affirming that the comprehensive and synchronized measures implemented by Vietnam recently have laid an important foundation for expanding economic, trade, and investment cooperation spaces between Vietnam and countries worldwide, including China.

Accordingly, the Vietnamese Consul General in Chongqing specifically mentioned Vietnam's new policies aimed at promoting Vietnam-China economic connectivity, facilitating import-export and transit activities through land border gates, encouraging cooperation between Vietnamese localities and Chongqing in trade, infrastructure investment, and logistics warehousing; and directing the development of Vietnamese agricultural products towards the Chinese market, considering this a strength to enhance the value of the cross-border agricultural supply chain.

He also highlighted that in the context of deep integration, Vietnam is accelerating administrative reform, digitalizing customs, and minimizing logistics costs to enhance competitiveness, creating the most favorable conditions for Chinese enterprises to cooperate and invest long-term in Vietnam, especially reputable and experienced corporations in the trans-Asian road supply chain.

For his part, Mr. Wang Lei, General Director of ASEAN International Logistics Company under the Group, provided an overview of the road transport cooperation with Vietnam in recent times and highlighted some challenges in logistics cooperation activities.

After listening to the Group's opinions, Consul General Bui Nguyen Long addressed each issue in detail, emphasizing that Vietnam always facilitates Chinese enterprises wishing to cooperate and invest, and is ready to jointly resolve practical difficulties to enhance transport efficiency on the cross-border transport corridor and road connectivity between the two countries.

At the end of the meeting, both sides agreed to continue exchanging and closely coordinating and to soon submit specific reports to the relevant authorities of both countries to resolve the aforementioned obstacles, contributing to promoting increasingly convenient and efficient cross-border road transport cooperation.
