WVR - On October 5, the Vietnamese Language Association in Japan (HVN) successfully organized the award ceremony for the photo contest “Moments of Kids Learning Vietnamese” in conjunction with the Mid-Autumn Festival 2025 at Kasai No. 7 Elementary School, Edogawa Ward, Tokyo.

The event attracted over 650 participants, including Vietnamese parents and children, Japanese families, and a large number of young volunteers.

With the mission to preserve Vietnamese as the soul of the nation, the program not only brought joy to the children but also sparked a love for their homeland in the younger generation living abroad.

Here, experiential activities and traditional games were organized to help children learn about Vietnamese culture, with over 500 mooncakes distributed for free by sponsors.

Many Japanese families attending had the opportunity to enjoy the traditional taste of Vietnamese mooncakes.

The program opened with a vibrant performance of “A Round of Vietnam” by the VIMOSA Club, bringing a familiar hometown atmosphere.

Notably, the event featured special guests, including Kitagawa Toshifumi, Vice Chairman of the Japan-Vietnam Friendship Association.

Kitagawa Toshifumi shared: “I am very pleased to see Vietnamese children preserving their cultural heritage in Japan. I hope they will excel in both Japanese and Vietnamese to become ambassadors strengthening the relationship between the two countries.”

The photo contest “Moments of Kids Learning Vietnamese” was open to children aged 3 to 15, launched by HVN from September 1 to 20, receiving 63 entries capturing authentic and adorable moments of Vietnamese learning journeys in Japan.

The award ceremony combined with the Mid-Autumn Festival created a lively space rich in Vietnamese identity through performances, traditional games, and meaningful gifts. The highlight was the award presentation based on photo quality, promotional significance, and community interaction.

The group award went to the “I Love Vietnamese” class in Niiza (entry number 041) and the Vietnam Women's Union in Japan (052), honoring the spirit of unity.

The impressive award was given to Nguyen Duc An Vinh and Nguyen Linh Sam (017).

Some individual awards: First Prize for Nguyen Phu Duy Anh and Nguyen Thi Minh Anh; Second Prize for Tran Khanh Phong (Kirin), Dinh Ngoc Que Chi, and Dinh Nhat Vi An; Third Prize for Tran Nguyen Khanh Vy, Nguyen Ngoc Minh Khoi, and Nguyen Nhat Minh; Consolation prizes for 10 other children.

First Prize winners Nguyen Phu Duy Anh and Nguyen Thi Minh Anh shared: “I love learning Vietnamese to tell my grandparents in Vietnam about my daily life. I really enjoy talking with them.”

In a joyful and warm atmosphere, HVN President Dao Lan Huong affirmed that the event contributes to connecting the Vietnamese community, helping children remember their roots.
