Spreading the spirit of preserving Vietnamese
Speaking at the closing ceremony, Consul General of Vietnam in Fukuoka Vu Chi Mai emphasized: “Preserving and spreading Vietnamese within the overseas community is a sacred duty, connecting the younger generation with their roots. The representative agencies will continue to accompany, connect, and support practical initiatives like this program.”

From Thailand, Consul General Dinh Hoang Linh (Khon Kaen) shared: “The Vietnamese community in Thailand has a long history, and teaching Vietnamese to the younger generation is always a concern. This training course is a valuable opportunity for teachers from many countries to learn modern methods and stay closely connected with the homeland. This is an important foundation for preserving Vietnamese and nurturing love for the homeland in the hearts of the younger generation.”
Dedication of lecturers and students
The closing ceremony was not just a summary but also a space for lecturers and students to express their feelings after nearly two months of engagement. The stories, experiences, and sincere sharing affirmed the significance of the training course, fostering a sense of responsibility and love for the Vietnamese language.

Representing the Advisory Board, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Thuyet expressed emotionally: “I am very moved to witness the serious participation of over 500 teachers worldwide. Even while teaching in a distant country, each of us shares a passion for preserving and passing on the Vietnamese language to the younger generation. I believe that this connection and sharing will create a great strength for Vietnamese to always be cherished, respected, and resonate across the five continents.”
According to the organizers, the training course, held from July 26 to September 20, included five key online sessions with practical content; more than 550 teachers and students from 30 countries and territories participated; hundreds of reports were submitted, contributing to a shared resource for teaching. The team of lecturers included Prof. Dr. Nguyen Minh Thuyet, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Anh Thi, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Trinh Cam Lan, Dr. Nguyen Khanh Ha.

Representing the students, Venerable Thich Phap Quang, Abbot of Truc Lam Monastery in Sri Lanka, also shared an emotional story: “The Vietnamese community in Sri Lanka is only about 200 people, but we still maintain 3 Vietnamese classes with over 60 students. Thanks to this training course, we have access to structured curricula and learn modern methods from experienced lecturers. Above all, we have the opportunity to exchange and learn valuable experiences from teachers worldwide – this is a great motivation to continue preserving Vietnamese in Sri Lanka.”
Towards a global network
At the closing ceremony, the organizers also announced upcoming activities: the official launch of the Global Network for Vietnamese Teaching and Cultural Preservation, connecting online worldwide on September 29; creating a “Map of Vietnamese Classes Worldwide” to serve as a basis for policy support; collaborating with the Posts and Telecommunications Institute of Technology (PTIT) to digitize materials, develop an electronic resource library, and apply information technology in teaching – learning; organizing advanced training and regular consultations to support overseas teachers, sharing practical experiences.

With the motto “Global Solidarity – Respect for Diversity – Encouraging Suitable Solutions in Each Country/Region”, the Network aims to become a strong bridge between the community of Vietnamese language teachers abroad and within the country.
To acknowledge the learning efforts, the organizers will issue certificates of completion to students who attend fully and submit the required reports.
