80 years of National Day: Bac Ninh promotes historical and cultural values and the spirit of national solidarity

On the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and Vietnam’s National Day (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025), the People’s Committee of Bac Ninh Province has announced plans to organise a large-scale series of communication, cultural, sports, and tourism activities across the province.
These events will take place from August to September 2025, aiming to widely promote the historical significance, profound meaning and enduring values of the August Revolution of 1945, as well as the establishment of the Democratic Republic of Vietnam - the predecessor of today’s Socialist Republic of Vietnam.
The program promises to create a joyful, vibrant atmosphere, encouraging patriotic emulation movements and fostering national pride, self-reliance and resilience in the cause of building and defending the Fatherland.
Propaganda activities will include visual displays such as banners, panels, and posters along main streets, central areas and offices; enhanced communication through press, television, social media and grassroots information systems.
A variety of cultural and artistic activities will also be held in different locations, including: a folk art program on boats featuring Quan ho folk songs, Cheo performances and revolutionary songs at Nghia Long Lake (August 30) and Nguyen Phi Y Lan Lake (September 1).

The “Walking Street - Cultural Tourism” event at Ngo Gia Tu Park (August 30) will showcase craft village products, OCOP items, and local cuisine. Dong Ngu Water Puppetry performances will take place at the 3/2 Square (August 30) and Bac Ninh Museum (September 1).
A highlight will be the exhibition of Bac Ninh’s socio-economic achievements themed “Bac Ninh - Thousand years of civilisation, Aspiration to rise in the new era”, to be held at the Vietnam National Exhibition Centre (Hanoi) from August 28 to September 5.
Additionally, there will be thematic cultural and historical exhibitions at local museums, libraries, and heritage conservation centers; hands-on experiences in making Dong Ho folk paintings (August 30 – September 3); a commemorative film week; and performances of UNESCO-recognized intangible cultural heritages (Quan ho folk songs, Ca tru singing…) during August and September.
The province will also host sports tournaments such as the Bac Ninh Provincial Badminton Championship (various age groups), the Pickleball Championship, the National Elite Badminton Clubs Championship, the National Elderly Soft Volleyball Championship and participation of Bac Ninh FC in the 2025-2026 National First Division and National Cup.
Through this program, Bac Ninh aims to spread the historical and cultural values as well as the spirit of national solidarity to both domestic audiences and international friends.
