In her speech at the ceremony, Ambassador Pham Thi Thu Huong emphasized that since the historic day of September 2, 1945, over the past 81 years, Vietnam has continuously strived to build, develop, and protect the nation; maintaining a peaceful and stable environment; pursuing rapid and sustainable development; consistently improving the quality of life for its people; while strengthening strategic autonomy, adaptability, and confidently stepping into a new era of national development. In the context of the world facing numerous risks and challenges, Vietnam remains steadfast in its open foreign policy, based on the principles of diversification and multilateralization, continuing to be a reliable friend, partner, and responsible member of the international community.

Building on the momentum of relations after 50 years of diplomatic ties, the two countries continue to engage in delegation exchanges in 2026, including visits by the First Deputy Speaker of the Greek Parliament Ioannis Plakiotakis and Foreign Minister George Gerapetritis to Vietnam. Vietnam reaffirms its commitment and desire to further strengthen the traditional friendship and cooperation with Greece, transforming the excellent political relations into more practical projects and programs, bringing tangible benefits to businesses and people of both countries. Vietnam highly appreciates Greece's increasingly important international role, especially as a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council. Both countries share a common view on the importance of upholding multilateralism, promoting peace, stability, security, safety, and freedom of navigation and aviation, as well as resolving disputes by peaceful means and adhering to international law. Additionally, people-to-people exchanges between the two countries are also growing through cooperation in culture, arts, education, tourism, and many other fields.
