On October 9, the Vietnamese Embassy in Mozambique held a fundraising for flood victims in Vietnam.
The event was attended by all Embassy staff and a large number of Vietnamese community in Mozambique.
During the fundraising, Vietnamese Ambassador to Mozambique Tran Thi Thu Thin provided a brief update on the recent flood situation in Vietnam. In September and early October 2025, five consecutive storms hit the East Sea, with storms No. 9 (Ragasa), No. 10 (Bualoi), and No. 11 (Matmo) significantly impacting various regions.
Notably, storm No. 10 and subsequent floods caused severe damage to life and property in the Northern and North Central provinces. The Party and State are currently implementing measures and resources to restore infrastructure, support production recovery, and ensure the livelihood of the people.

The Embassy organized the event in response to the call from the Presidium of the Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee, promoting the nation's valuable tradition of solidarity, with the spirit of “mutual support” and “the good leaves protect the worn-out leaves”. This aims to spread a humanitarian message, evoke a spirit of sharing and social responsibility, and demonstrate the solidarity and mutual support of the Vietnamese community in Mozambique, always oriented towards their homeland.

Calling on the Vietnamese community in Mozambique to join hands with the Party and State, according to their conditions and capabilities, to contribute to supporting flood victims in Vietnam, the Ambassador expressed gratitude for the shared compassion of the Embassy staff and the Vietnamese community in Mozambique, helping affected families overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives soon.

During the event, the Embassy staff, Vietnamese businesses, and community members directly raised 101,813,840 VND.
