In September, the East Sea was hit by four consecutive storms, with Typhoon No. 9 (Ragasa) and especially Typhoon No. 10 (Bualoi) causing significant impacts on many localities.
Typhoon No. 10 alone left severe consequences in the Northern and North Central regions: 36 people died, 21 went missing, and 147 were injured; hundreds of thousands of houses, schools, and agricultural areas were destroyed; many transportation routes, power systems, and infrastructure were severely damaged. The total economic loss is estimated at approximately 11 trillion VND.

Speaking at the ceremony, Member of the Party Central Committee, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Manh Cuong emphasized that the fundraising activity is not only a noble gesture, continuing the tradition of “mutual support and protection” of the nation, but also a testament to the solidarity and sharing spirit of the Ministry's officials and employees with the people in storm-hit areas. This is a practical and timely action to help the people overcome the consequences of natural disasters, stabilize their lives, and rebuild production.

On behalf of the Party Committee and Ministry Leadership, Mr. Cuong called on all officials, employees, and workers in the Ministry and at Vietnamese representative offices abroad to actively participate and contribute both materially and spiritually.
The Permanent Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee urged units within the sector to promptly care for, support, and encourage officials and employees whose families and relatives were affected by the storms, spreading the spirit of solidarity and compassion widely.
He expressed confidence that with the collective effort and unity of all officials at home and abroad, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will make a practical contribution alongside the nation to help the storm-hit people overcome difficulties and stabilize their lives.
