Vietnamese Community Book Station in Japan: An initiative to spread knowledge and connect overseas Vietnamese

WVR - On December 15, at the headquarters of the Vietnamese Embassy in Japan, the "Vietnamese Community Book Station in Japan" project was officially launched in a solemn and warm atmosphere.

Attending the launch ceremony were Minister Counselor Nguyen Sau – Vietnamese Embassy in Japan; Mr. Nguyen Hong Son – President of the Vietnamese Association; Mr. Do Quang Ba – President of the Vietnam-Japan Cultural Exchange Organization, along with representatives of associations, organizations, and a large number of Vietnamese residents living, studying, and working in Japan.

The project was initiated and directly coordinated by Ms. Le Thuong – Vice President of the Vietnamese Association in Japan, President of the Vietnamese Association in Kansai.

This is a long-term community initiative aimed at creating a shared knowledge space for overseas Vietnamese, contributing to the development of a reading culture, preserving the Vietnamese language, and nurturing the cultural identity of the Vietnamese community in Japan.

Speaking at the launch, Ms. Le Thuong, the project leader, emphasized: "The Community Book Station project stems from the practical needs of the Vietnamese community in Japan, especially the younger generation and Vietnamese families.

This initiative aims to create a common space where knowledge is shared, Vietnamese culture is nurtured, and community spirit is strengthened".

The project aligns with the Party and State's policies regarding overseas Vietnamese in the new situation, contributing to concretizing the orientation of building a great national unity bloc, developing Vietnamese culture and people; while enhancing cultural diplomacy and external information, promoting the image of Vietnam and its people to international friends.

The community book station is built on an open space model, gathering Vietnamese books, children's books, cultural-history books, and life skills books suitable for various ages.

Through reading activities, exchanges, and knowledge sharing, the project contributes to enhancing the spiritual life, igniting the spirit of learning, and strengthening the connection between generations of Vietnamese in Japan.

On this occasion, the Organizing Committee and the Project Leader expressed gratitude for the valuable support of the Vietnam Education Publishing House and Smiles Company – a unit operating in the international money transfer sector, which has joined hands with the project since its inception.

The launch of the project continues to affirm the proactive, creative, and responsible spirit of the Vietnamese community in Japan in accompanying the homeland, contributing to building a united, intellectual, integrated, and sustainably developing overseas Vietnamese community.
