The meeting aimed to create a forum for information exchange, strengthening the partnership between the Embassy and Mozambican media agencies, thereby enhancing external communication and promoting the cultures and peoples of Vietnam and Mozambique to foster mutual understanding.
During the meeting, Ambassador Tran Thi Thu Thin expressed gratitude for the effective collaboration of Mozambican journalists in covering the activities of the Embassy and the Vietnam-Mozambique bilateral relations to the Mozambican public. The Ambassador briefed the journalists on Vietnam's socio-economic development in 2025, the progress in Vietnam-Mozambique bilateral relations, and the significant outcomes of the 14th National Congress of the Party.

According to the Ambassador, Vietnam achieved substantial economic, social, and international integration milestones in 2025: The GDP growth for the year was estimated at 8.02%, placing it among the world's leaders. The economic scale in 2025 was projected to reach $514 billion, climbing five positions to rank 32nd globally; the per capita GDP was approximately $5,026, 1.4 times that of 2020, positioning Vietnam among the upper middle-income countries.
Diplomatic and international integration efforts also deepened, with high-level diplomatic activities being vibrant and yielding impressive results. In 2025 alone, Vietnam upgraded to Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with five countries, Strategic Partnership with nine countries, and added one Comprehensive Partner. For the first time, Vietnam established strategic partnerships or higher with all five permanent members of the United Nations Security Council, all G7 countries, and 18 out of 21 G20 members.
Highlighting the notable outcomes of the 14th National Party Congress, the Ambassador stated that the Party Congress documents encapsulate the wisdom, will, and aspirations of the entire Party and people, reflecting Vietnam's innovative thinking and strong development determination in the new era. The documents contain many new and breakthrough points.
The Congress thoroughly discussed and set forth many important guidelines and decisions across all fields; identifying socio-economic development and environmental protection as central; Party building as pivotal; cultural and human development as foundational; strengthening national defense, security, and promoting foreign relations and integration as crucial and regular; scientific and technological advancement, innovation, and national digital transformation as the central driving forces for development.
The Ambassador sincerely thanked the Mozambican media agencies for actively coordinating and reporting on the Congress in recent times, enabling local and international friends to gain a deeper understanding of Vietnam's strategic development directions in the new era – an era of national resurgence.
Regarding bilateral relations, the Ambassador noted that 2025 marked a significant milestone in Vietnam-Mozambique relations, as the two countries celebrated the 50th anniversary of diplomatic relations with numerous commemorative activities. In 2026, the Vietnamese Embassy in Mozambique will continue to promote bilateral cooperation across all sectors, including politics, diplomacy, trade, investment, education, agriculture, and telecommunications, to deepen the Vietnam-Mozambique friendship and cooperation.
During the meeting, Ambassador Tran Thi Thu Thin addressed numerous questions from local journalists, providing a more comprehensive view of Vietnam and the bilateral relations between the two countries.
