Vietnam supports Mozambique to overcome flood aftermaths

On February 23, at the headquarters of the Mozambique Liberation Front (FRELIMO), Vietnamese Ambassador to Mozambique Tran Thi Thu Thin presented a support package worth 100,000 USD from the Party, State, and people of Vietnam to assist the people of Mozambique in overcoming the aftermath of recent floods to FRELIMO's Secretary-General Chakil Aboobacar.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Mozambique Tran Thi Thu Thin presents a support package worth 100,000 USD from the Party, State, and people of Vietnam to assist the people of Mozambique.

Speaking at the ceremony, Ambassador Tran Thi Thu Thin conveyed the sincere regards from General Secretary To Lam, President Luong Cuong, and the leaders and people of Vietnam to the leaders of the FRELIMO Party, the Government, and the people of Mozambique amidst the prolonged heavy rains and flooding that have caused significant damage to lives and property.

According to the Ambassador, Vietnam and Mozambique share many similarities in natural conditions and are frequently affected by tropical storms. Therefore, the Party, State, and people of Vietnam deeply understand the challenges Mozambique is facing due to the complex weather and climate conditions.

The Ambassador praised the efforts of FRELIMO and the Mozambique Government in promptly implementing rescue measures and supporting people in the affected areas.

The decision to allocate 100,000 USD to support the people of Mozambique was made swiftly by the Party and Government leaders, reflecting the noble tradition of the Vietnamese nation. It is a clear testament to the solidarity and friendship, and a sincere sharing between the two Parties, two countries, and two peoples.

Vietnam and Mozambique stood side by side during the struggle for independence and nation-building in the past and continue to accompany each other in the current development journey.

On behalf of the Mozambique Liberation Front, FRELIMO's Secretary-General Chakil Aboobacar expressed heartfelt gratitude for the timely, practical, and meaningful support from the Party, State, and people of Vietnam to the people of Mozambique.

The Secretary-General stated that Vietnam is the first partner to provide resources through the Mozambique Liberation Front to assist Mozambique in overcoming the flood consequences. This is a vivid testament to the traditional solidarity and close ties between the two Parties, forming a solid foundation for deepening bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

Secretary-General Chakil Aboobacar committed that FRELIMO will effectively utilize this valuable support to help the people of Mozambique overcome the flood consequences, stabilize their lives, and rebuild affected areas.

Also at the ceremony, Ambassador Tran Thi Thu Thin directly handed over the letter of regards from General Secretary To Lam to FRELIMO's Secretary-General Chakil Aboobacar, addressed to FRELIMO Party President Daniel Francisco Chapo. President Luong Cuong also sent a letter of regards to Mozambique's President Daniel Francisco Chapo regarding the recent flood situation.
