Vietnam and Mozambique sign higher education cooperation agreement

The Agreement aims to specify the educational content of the 2007 Agreement between the two Governments on cooperation in education and culture. It also addresses the growing and positive trend of Vietnam-Mozambique bilateral relations.
The newly signed Agreement encompasses various areas of cooperation, including promoting teaching projects, research, academic exchanges, training, student exchanges, and other fields. Under the Agreement, the two countries agree to provide 15 student exchange scholarships annually.
By signing and implementing this Agreement, the Governments of Vietnam and Mozambique aim to strengthen cooperation in higher education more robustly and extensively, thereby enhancing the overall cooperative relationship between the two nations.
Mozambique's Minister of Education and Culture Samaria Tovela expressed delight at the establishment of a new cooperation framework in education, aligning with practical needs.
The Minister is confident that through this Agreement, both parties will undertake many specific and effective cooperation activities in the near future, especially in facilitating Mozambican students to study and train in Vietnam in fields where Mozambique prioritizes and Vietnam excels, such as agriculture, processing, aquaculture, medicine, engineering, and science and technology.

Ambassador Tran Thi Thu Thin expressed gratitude to the relevant agencies of both countries for their efforts in drafting and preparing the Agreement.
Highlighting education cooperation as a bright spot in bilateral relations, marked by the active involvement of Vietnamese education experts in Mozambique in the past and the continuous provision of student exchange scholarships by both Governments over the years, the Ambassador emphasized that this Agreement is a vivid testament to the commitment of both Parties and Governments. It deepens the traditional friendship, solidarity, and multifaceted cooperation between Vietnam and Mozambique.
The Ambassador is confident that the Agreement will bring practical benefits to beneficiaries, notably students from both countries participating in the exchange program, thereby contributing to the training of high-quality human resources for Mozambique in priority areas identified by the Mozambican government.
