Venezuela political forces congratulate the success of the 14th Party Congress at Vietnamese Embassy
WVR - On February 11 (local time), a delegation led by Chairman of the National Assembly's Foreign Affairs Committee and Chairman of the Venezuela-Vietnam Parliamentary Friendship Group Saúl Ortega visited the Vietnamese Embassy in Venezuela to congratulate the success of the 14th National Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam.

During the meeting, Congressman Saúl Ortega conveyed warm congratulations from Venezuelan National Assembly President Jorge Rodríguez to General Secretary To Lam and the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam. He expressed confidence that Vietnam will continue to achieve significant accomplishments and successfully meet its development goals by 2030, with a vision towards 2045.
Congressman Saúl Ortega shared that the Venezuela-Vietnam Parliamentary Friendship Group for the 2026-2031 term was established by the Venezuelan National Assembly in January 2026. It includes numerous members from the United Socialist Party of Venezuela (PSUV) and other parties within the ruling coalition, as well as some opposition parties.
Visiting the Vietnamese Embassy and congratulating the success of the 14th Congress is one of the first activities of the Group, demonstrating the friendship and solidarity of Venezuelan political forces towards Vietnam's efforts in nation-building and development.
Reflecting on his visits to Vietnam, most recently in September 2025, Congressman Saúl Ortega praised Vietnam's socio-economic development achievements, poverty reduction efforts, and improvements in living standards.
He expressed admiration for the sacrifices and losses endured by the Vietnamese people in their struggle for independence and national unity, affirming that the achievements are a testament to the leadership of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the ideology of President Ho Chi Minh.
Meanwhile, Congresswoman Yosneisy Paredes, the youngest member of the new Venezuela-Vietnam Parliamentary Friendship Group, expressed her honor. With her experience as the former Head of the International Department of the Central Committee of the United Socialist Youth, she pledged to continue promoting the traditional friendship and comprehensive partnership between Venezuela and Vietnam, as well as cooperation between the two national assemblies.

Discussing the outcomes of the 14th Congress, Ambassador Vu Trung My noted that the Congress outlined important policies, marking a new development phase for the country. The goals are to become a modern industrialized nation with high middle-income status by 2030 and a high-income developed country by 2045.
The Ambassador expressed gratitude for the support from the PSUV, the Venezuelan government, its people, and political forces towards Vietnam's Party, State, and people. He emphasized that Vietnam values and seeks to enhance the traditional friendship fostered by the late President Hugo Chávez and successive leaders of both nations.
Ambassador Vu Trung My affirmed his commitment to furthering the comprehensive partnership between Vietnam and Venezuela and deepening cooperation between the ruling parties and national assemblies of both countries. This will contribute positively to each nation's development and elevate their international standing.
Previously, Ambassador Vu Trung My also welcomed leaders from several parties within the ruling "Great Patriotic Pole" (GPP) coalition, such as the Movement for People's Electoral Party (MEP), Homeland for All Party (PPT), TUPAMARO Party, ENAMÓRATE Party, among others, who came to congratulate the success of the 14th Congress of the Communist Party of Vietnam.
