During the meeting, the Ambassador expressed her delight to Minister Samaria Tovela regarding the positive developments in the solidarity, friendship, and cooperation between Vietnam and Mozambique since the establishment of diplomatic relations 50 years ago.
The Ambassador highlighted educational cooperation as a bright spot in the bilateral relationship, marked by the active involvement of Vietnamese educational experts in Mozambique in the past and the continuous exchange of scholarships between the two governments over the years.
According to the Ambassador, nearly 100 students from both countries have participated in the scholarship exchange program between the two governments. Mozambican students have studied in Vietnam in fields such as agriculture, aquaculture, traditional medicine, and processing industries. After completing their studies in Vietnam, they return to Mozambique to contribute to local development. With their proficiency in Vietnamese and understanding of both Vietnamese and Mozambican cultures, many alumni are now working at Vietnamese companies in Mozambique, acting as bridges for the friendship and cooperation between the two nations.
On this occasion, the Ambassador respectfully requested the Minister to expedite the signing of a new agreement between the two governments on higher education cooperation, providing a foundation for deeper bilateral collaboration.
Ambassador Tran Thi Thu Thin shared that the current bilateral cooperation in culture and people-to-people exchanges remains modest due to objective reasons such as geographical distance, travel difficulties, and high costs due to the lack of direct flights. Based on the positive sentiments and strong solidarity between the two countries in recent times, and the promising results of mutually beneficial cooperation, the Ambassador hopes both sides will enhance the promotion of each other's countries, people, history, and culture, fostering closer ties between Vietnam and Mozambique.
