Addressing the launching ceremony, Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Do Thang Hai emphasised that the establishment of the VNTR Portal aims to fulfill Vietnamese commitments in ASEAN as it strives to enhance both policy transparency and trade facilitation throughout the region.

The portal is expected to assist the business community in gaining more information on trade policies of various regional countries, proactively building strategies for market access and improving competitiveness as a whole, he added.

Amanda Milling, minister of State for Asia and the Middle East at the British Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office, said the VNTR Portal will help to increase the diversity and inclusiveness of the economy. Indeed, it will greatly help micro, small, and medium-sized businesses benefit from cross-border trade, thereby becoming the driving force for accelerating trade and investment in Viet Nam.

Milling expressed her hope that the portal will offer state management agencies an additional search tool to access Vietnamese commitments within both the ASEAN framework and free trade agreements that ASEAN has signed with partners, so as to support their research and policy making moving forward.

The portal, developed by the ministry with support from the British Government through the British Embassy in Viet Nam, will officially be put into operation at https://vntr.moit.gov.vn and will be connected with the ASEAN Trade Repository immediately after the launch ceremony.
