First meeting of the Content Subcommittee: Shaping the agenda for APEC 2027
WVR - On the afternoon of December 26, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Nguyen Minh Hang and Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Nguyen Sinh Nhat Tan co-chaired the first meeting of the Content Subcommittee under the National APEC 2027 Committee.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Minh Hang affirmed that hosting APEC 2027 is a highly significant multilateral diplomatic event for Vietnam, right after the 14th National Congress of the Party, as the country enters a new development phase and implements a comprehensive foreign strategy at a new level. The content work is not only to ensure the successful organization of conferences but also to clearly demonstrate Vietnam's strategic thinking, long-term vision, and responsibility in promoting APEC cooperation towards a peaceful, stable, and prosperous Asia-Pacific community.
In this spirit, the DeputyForeign Minister called for innovative thinking and organization in preparing content for APEC 2027, with proactive, methodical, and scientific implementation at the highest level, ensuring close and synchronized coordination among ministries, sectors, and related agencies.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Sinh Nhat Tan, co-chair of the Content Subcommittee, stressed the need to closely align APEC 2027 content development with the country's economic development priorities and international integration requirements in the new phase. According to the Deputy Minister, it is crucial to focus on clarifying practical cooperation content that adds value, accurately reflects the common concerns of APEC economies, while leveraging Vietnam's strengths and benefits.
Members of the Content Subcommittee discussed several important topics related to preparations for APEC 2027, including the implementation roadmap for 2026, the anticipated schedule of conferences to be held in 2027, and the outcomes of thematic workshops serving the identification of themes and cooperation priorities for APEC 2027. The discussions emphasized the need to continue refining the roadmap and content based on close coordination among ministries and sectors, ensuring consistency, feasibility, and contributing to a solid foundation for building the overall agenda for APEC 2027.
Concluding the meeting, Deputy Ministers Minh Hang and Nhat Tan agreed to direct ministries, sectors, and members of the Content Subcommittee to allocate resources proactively and actively participate in APEC cooperation activities in 2026; proactively review and specify assigned tasks, ensuring progress, quality, and effectiveness to best prepare for the successful organization of APEC Vietnam 2027.
