Vietnam-Finland: The journey of bringing 'Happy education' to Vietnamese children
Latest
A notable highlight of this collaboration is the Laulau Learning Method—a cutting-edge educational program from Finland designed to nurture the holistic development of children's intellect, skills, and emotions during their formative years.
On November 29th and 30th, 20 early childhood education facilities across Hanoi, Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang, and Son La became the first in Vietnam to officially implement this innovative learning method.

Ms. Le Thi Thu Huyen, Academic Director of STEAMe, has been at the forefront of integrating the Laulau Learning Method into STEAMe's educational ecosystem. She remarked: "After overcoming recent challenges, STEAMe upholds its educational philosophy: 'Every child is a genius, and every teacher is a lifelong inspiration for children. We actively seek partners who share this vision and mission. The introduction of Laulau Learning in Vietnam brings a refreshing and wholesome perspective, employing the art of 'Songdrawing' as its core teaching method to awaken children's potential".
Ms. Pham Thanh Huyen, representative of Finland Preschool (FIS Minh Khai and FIS Tay Ho), expressed her hopes for the Laulau Learning Method, emphasizing its potential to foster joyful and natural learning experiences for students. She shared:
"We aim to create a learning environment where children feel happy, free to explore their creativity, and confident to express their thoughts daily without fear or hesitation. We envision our teachers, who will soon implement the Laulau Learning Method, collaborating with us to paint a vibrant and colourful reality and future for the children".

In addition to representatives from Hanoi and Son La who attended the signing ceremony in person, Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang participants joined the event online.
Ms. Nguyen Ngoc Giang Huong from Finland Preschool (FIS BASON) in Ho Chi Minh City shared the positive outcomes observed after trialling several lessons:
"The children were attentive and actively followed the teacher’s guidance, engaging in activities involving colours, shapes, and movement. Integrating music, colours, movement, and storytelling has made lessons more dynamic and enjoyable, creating a happier classroom environment. We believe this method significantly supports teachers in bringing the Finnish approach closer to our children".

"Today marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter for Laulau Learning as we partner with pioneering educators to bring the joy of learning to Vietnamese children. We deeply appreciate the passion and courage of the teachers, as leading the adoption of a new method presents both opportunities and challenges. Laulau is committed to supporting teachers on this journey to nurture confident, happy, and well-rounded children".

At the event, Laulau Learning Vietnam officially donated a program package valued at 300 million VND to benefit children in remote areas. This initiative aims to recognize and support the efforts of Son La, a UNESCO Global Learning City while providing children in this challenging region with access to advanced educational opportunities. The donation seeks to bridge the gap in educational equity and promote inclusive learning for all.
On behalf of the preschools receiving the Sponsorship Fund for Son La, Ms. Quang Thi Thanh Binh, Principal of Quyet Thang Preschool, expressed her optimism:
"Despite our limited facilities and the constraints on our teachers’ foreign language skills, we firmly believe that implementing the Laulau Learning Method will bring immense value to our children. This innovative, multisensory approach will enhance the learning experience and improve the quality of our teaching, enabling educators to apply it effectively across various subjects in the classroom".
