Special SAT class on the Olympia Champion's journey back

On the journey to reach out to the big sea to become global citizens, the young generation of Vietnam cannot lack an important "springboard" - English. As the key to opening the door to knowledge and opportunities, English is a learning tool for young people to discover themselves, expand their worldview and embrace new experiences from many different cultures.

Mr. Phan Minh Duc, Champion of Olympia 2010, understands the value of knowledge and, above all, the power of aspiration. For him, the dream of studying and gaining experience in prestigious international environments is not just about achieving success but, more importantly, about returning to contribute to his homeland. "I am Vietnamese" – that phrase has become a source of deep motivation, urging Mr. Duc to constantly cherish projects to help Vietnamese students reach further and higher. It is not only the return of an expatriate but also the return of a person with a big dream – contributing to the country's transformation and sowing the seeds of knowledge and faith in the younger generation.

Since studying at Swinburne University (Australia), Mr. Duc has continually absorbed knowledge in an international environment, fueling his desire to return to Vietnam and spread positive energy, confidence, and a spirit of exploration to the next generation of Vietnamese students through education. Future Me Center was born from that dream - a place that not only helps students prepare for English certification exams like the SAT and IELTS but also equips young people with the knowledge and skills to step into the world and pursue bigger goals confidently.

With an SAT score of 1570/1600 and an IELTS score of 8.5, Mr. Duc returned to Vietnam to pursue his dream of establishing community classes nationwide for students. In June 2024, Future Me partnered with Khan Academy Vietnam to implement a free online SAT open class, "15 hours of building an SAT foundation". This class is a place to impart knowledge and serve as a bridge, fostering a high-quality learning environment for students. Leveraging the free learning materials on the Khan Academy platform and combining them with his teaching experience, Mr. Duc and his team have held classes that attract up to 500 students from provinces and cities such as Hanoi, Nghe An, Hue, Bac Giang, Hai Phong, and Ho Chi Minh City…

After half a year, Mr. Duc and Future Me’s SAT classroom community has become a robust 'knowledge house' where nearly 1,000 students study, grow, and prepare for the SAT exam together - the gateway to prestigious universities worldwide. Most importantly, Mr. Duc and the teaching staff always remember that each student at Future Me is a potential seed that needs nurturing, guidance, and inspiration.

By using the Khan Academy platform – an official partner of the College Board - combined with self-compiled textbooks, Future Me has become a pioneer in applying modern technology to SAT classes, giving students access to the latest methods and preparation materials. Using an online preparation platform helps ensure that students have access to the most up-to-date materials and test preparation methods, allowing them to confidently and quickly adapt to the Digital SAT, the computer-based version of the SAT.

One of the outstanding advantages of Khan Academy is its ability to assist students in cultivating and strengthening their self-study skills. Mr. Duc emphasised: "Students can search for video tutorials and basic knowledge introductions for each exercise. This helps them follow the achievement of doing many exercises and focus on consolidating their knowledge." In particular, this platform is handy for SAT preparation, allowing students to adjust their own learning pace and deepen their understanding of topics in which they are weak. Combining modern teaching methods and quality learning materials has created an ideal learning environment where students can reach their full potential.
