The event was attended by nearly 400 guests, including Comrade Bounleuam MANIVONG, Secretary of the Luang Prabang Provincial Party Committee, and many leaders from the northern provinces of Laos; Comrade Truong Huu Quan, Deputy Consul General of China in Luang Prabang; representatives from various departments and agencies in the eight northern provinces of Laos; representatives of Vietnamese agencies stationed in these provinces; the Vietnam Business Association in Northern Laos; the Management Committee of Vietnamese in the northern provinces of Laos, teachers, students, and a large number of Vietnamese community members in the northern provinces of Laos.
Speaking at the event, Consul General Vu Ngoc Ly expressed his delight in welcoming distinguished guests and the entire Vietnamese community in the northern region of Laos to the event. He also informed the Lao friends and the community about Vietnam's significant achievements in politics, economy, and socio-cultural fields in 2025, and recalled the historical tradition and development of the unique and special relationship between the two Parties, States, and peoples.

Consul General Vu Ngoc Ly also extended his sincere gratitude and deep appreciation to the Party, State, and Government leaders of Laos, as well as the Lao Front for National Construction, for their great attention and favorable conditions provided to the Vietnamese community for stable living and development in Laos. He also thanked the Vietnamese agencies stationed in the northern provinces of Laos, the Management Committee of Vietnamese in these provinces, and the Vietnam Business Association in Northern Laos for their constant support and close cooperation with the Consulate General in carrying out its mission.
The year 2026 holds significant importance as it marks the beginning of implementing the Resolutions set forth by the 14th Party Congress, and it is the year of conducting elections for the National Assembly and People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term, paving the way for the nation to enter a new era of prosperity, civilization, and prosperity.

In implementing the tasks for 2026, the Consulate General is confident of continued support, cooperation, and assistance from the leaders of the northern provinces of Laos, Vietnamese agencies stationed in these provinces, the Management Committee of Vietnamese in these provinces, and the Vietnam Business Association in Northern Laos to jointly foster and build the great friendship, special solidarity, comprehensive cooperation, and strategic connection between Vietnam and Laos, ensuring it remains evergreen and everlasting.
On this occasion, Consul General Vu Ngoc Ly presented certificates of merit to several individuals for their significant contributions to the activities of the Vietnamese community in Northern Laos over the past year.
In a warm, friendly atmosphere filled with brotherly camaraderie, Vietnamese expatriates and Lao friends gathered together to enjoy traditional Vietnamese Tet dishes such as spring rolls, square sticky rice cakes, and pork rolls, along with cultural performances celebrating the Vietnam-Laos friendship, and joined in the traditional Lao Lam Vong dance.
