Congratulating Major General Phairach Pookcharoen on his appointment as the Commander of Police in charge of immigration in the vast northeastern provinces of Thailand, Consul General Dinh Hoang Linh expressed a desire to enhance cooperation with the Region 4 Immigration Command in the citizen protection efforts of the Consulate General.
This is one of the top priority tasks of the Vietnamese Representative Missions abroad.
The consular area of the Consulate General spans 20 northeastern provinces of Thailand, covering nearly 169,000 km, with a border of over 2,700 km with Laos and Cambodia.
As Vietnam-Thailand economic, trade, and tourism relations continue to develop, the increasing number of Vietnamese citizens entering Thailand through land border gates poses significant challenges to the citizen protection efforts of the Consulate General.
