Vietnam Consulate General in Kunming pays tribute at Ho Chi Minh Memorial Site

WVR - In commemoration of the 96th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam (February 3, 1930 – February 3, 2026), a delegation from the Party Committee of the Vietnamese Consulate General in Kunming, China, led by Consul General Nghiem Viet Chung, visited and laid flowers at the Ho Chi Minh Memorial Site in Kunming, Yunnan Province, China.

During the visit, the delegation was briefed by officials from the Memorial Site Management Board on President Ho Chi Minh's activities in Yunnan Province through historical images and documents. This provided the Party members with deeper insights into his life and career, including his great sacrifices and contributions to Vietnam's revolutionary cause and his significant role in fostering Vietnam-China friendship.

The delegation laid flowers before the statue of President Ho Chi Minh, expressing profound respect and gratitude to the leader who dedicated his life to the freedom of the nation and the happiness of the Vietnamese people, as well as to the international communist and labor movements.

In discussions with leaders of Wuhua District and the Memorial Site Management Board, Consul General Nghiem Viet Chung expressed gratitude for the respect and affection shown by local authorities and residents towards President Ho Chi Minh and the traditional Vietnam-China friendship. He also discussed ideas on preserving and displaying documents, materials, and artifacts related to President Ho Chi Minh to enhance the effectiveness of promoting Vietnam-China friendship to the people of both nations.

The memorial site is located at 89 – 91 South Huashan Road, Wuhua District, where President Ho Chi Minh lived and worked during his revolutionary activities in Kunming.

The site preserves and displays numerous images, documents, and artifacts from Ho Chi Minh's revolutionary years in Yunnan. After restoration, the memorial site officially opened to the public for free visits in March 2023.

According to statistics from the Memorial Site Management Board, since its opening, the site has welcomed over 20,000 visitors, including about 5,000 Vietnamese visitors. More than 30 Vietnamese leadership and official delegations, totaling over 1,000 individuals, have visited and laid flowers at the site.
