Notably, two presentations from international experts, including Dr. Lee Duck Young (Yooshin Corporation) and Mr. Chen Kai – a Chinese expert with over 20 years of experience in high-speed rail, currently working at Minh Duc Construction Group, drew attention for their high practicality.
The subsequent discussion was lively, with diverse opinions from experts revolving around technical challenges, design solutions, and practical application capabilities. These exchanges helped clarify key issues and added practical perspectives to the research content.
Evaluating the professional value of the workshop, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Ha stated that cooperation and exchange with international partners with conditions similar to Vietnam is a necessary direction at present. According to him, the participation of experts from the Republic of Korea – expert Lee Duck Young and China – expert Chen Kai is of particular importance, as these are countries that have achieved significant accomplishments in high-speed rail development.

According to Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Ha, the Republic of Korea is recognized as one of the countries that developed a high-speed rail system early on, with a notable mark being its technological autonomy through the KTX (Korea Train eXpress) system. Meanwhile, China has emerged as a country with one of the fastest and most modern high-speed rail networks in the world in recent decades.
“Direct access to international experiences through experts not only provides practical reference value but also enhances the capacity of the domestic scientific and technical team, effectively serving the research and implementation of high-speed rail projects in Vietnam,” Assoc. Prof. Dr. Hoang Ha remarked.
Overall, the workshop is assessed to have high scientific content and applicability, meeting urgent needs as Vietnam prepares to implement high-speed rail projects. The reports are focused, ensuring synchronization between aspects from design, construction technology to handling and operation experience.
Notably, many contents addressed issues that Vietnam has not yet had the opportunity to deeply access in terms of technology, thereby filling knowledge and experience gaps. According to experts, the value of the workshop extends beyond research and has direct significance for the design, construction, as well as operation and maintenance of high-speed rail systems in the future.

| The workshop attracted a large number of experts, lecturers, engineers, and business representatives in the field of transportation infrastructure. |
Sharing this view, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Hau evaluated the workshop as being organized at the right time, as Vietnam begins to implement high-speed rail projects: “The workshop is very necessary in the current context, as high-speed rail issues are still quite new in Vietnam. The exchange content not only has research significance but can be directly applied to specific projects. Especially, to meet the high technical requirements of infrastructure such as bridges, tunnels, and roadbeds, the domestic engineering team needs to gradually grasp and master the technology, thereby optimizing design solutions and reducing investment costs.”
Through the exchange and discussion content, the workshop has contributed to forming an important reference basis for research, design, and development orientation of the high-speed rail system in Vietnam. At the same time, the event also opens up opportunities to promote professional cooperation, connecting research units, consultants, and construction enterprises.
