Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Director General Phan Thi Minh Giang congratulated Ms. Li Weiwei on her new position, expressing confidence that the new Consul General will make significant contributions to promoting the comprehensive strategic cooperative partnership between Vietnam and China, ensuring its stable and sustainable development. The Deputy Director General affirmed that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Vietnamese authorities will coordinate and facilitate the Consul General's successful tenure in Vietnam.
Deputy Director General Phan Thi Minh Giang expressed the hope for both sides to continue enhancing cooperation in mutually concerned areas, in line with the major orientations agreed upon by the senior leaders of both Parties and countries. She also urged the Consulate General to maintain close communication and coordination with Vietnamese authorities to promptly address arising consular issues, thereby facilitating people-to-people exchanges, especially during the “Vietnam-China Tourism Cooperation Year 2026-2027”.

Thanking Deputy Director General Phan Thi Minh Giang for the meeting and the presentation of the Consular Acceptance Certificate, Ms. Li Weiwei expressed her joy at being assigned to Da Nang. She emphasised that the traditional friendship between Vietnam and China, carefully nurtured by generations of leaders and citizens of both countries, is a crucial foundation for continued close cooperation and joint development in the era of growth.
Consul General Li Weiwei noted the dynamic development and potential for cooperation in the consular region, including finance and science-technology.
She affirmed her commitment during her tenure to promote substantive cooperation between localities of both countries, enhance consular cooperation and people-to-people exchanges, contributing to nurturing the traditional friendship between Vietnam and China.
