Speaking at the meeting, the Ambassador warmly congratulated the 15 new Mozambican students who have excellently received scholarships from the Vietnamese Government. The Ambassador emphasized that this is a proud achievement resulting from the students' efforts, supported by their families and teachers.

The scholarship exchange is not just an educational cooperation project but also a strategic investment for the future of Mozambique's young generation. It vividly demonstrates the strong friendship and cooperation between the two countries. According to the Ambassador, these students are pioneers benefiting from the new advancement in bilateral cooperation, following the signing of a new higher education cooperation agreement by the two governments in January 2026, which increased the annual scholarship quota from 10 to 15.

Sharing about Vietnam, the Ambassador introduced the unique aspects of Vietnam's history, culture, hospitality, and the friendship extended to Mozambique, as well as the significant economic and technological advancements in Vietnam today. The Ambassador expressed hope that Vietnam will gradually become a second home for the students during their years of study, growth, and exploration of new experiences.

The Ambassador encouraged students to actively integrate, openly embrace cultural differences, observe, listen, and continuously learn from daily life and those around them, alongside acquiring knowledge in the classroom. The Ambassador advised students not to hesitate to seek help from the school, friends, and the Embassy if they encounter difficulties living far from home.

To ensure a complete learning journey, the Ambassador hopes the new students will study diligently, continuously enhance their knowledge, professional skills, especially Vietnamese, comply with Vietnamese laws and school regulations, and always support each other. The Ambassador expects the students to quickly adapt to the new environment, understand and love Vietnam and its people, and introduce their Vietnamese friends to the cultural, historical, and human values of Mozambique, thereby becoming a bridge connecting the two countries and peoples.

Ms. Carla Caomba, Director of the Mozambique Scholarship Institute, expressed her gratitude for the attention, support, and assistance from the Ambassador and the Embassy throughout the selection and admission process for the students. According to the Director, in the context of the Mozambican Government's push to train high-quality human resources, the educational cooperation program with Vietnam holds special and practical significance, directly supporting Mozambique in training a young generation in fields urgently needed, such as industry, agriculture, information technology, and healthcare.

The Director hopes each student will recognize this honor, strive to study well, and maintain strict discipline to absorb the essence of Vietnamese knowledge and technology. She expects that after completing their studies, the students will return home with solid preparation, contributing to Mozambique's development and becoming the next generation to uphold the strong friendship between the two nations.

At the meeting, Ambassador Tran Thi Thu Thin listened to the thoughts and shares of the new students before their departure. The Ambassador also addressed many student inquiries regarding the study program, living conditions in Vietnam, and practical experiences for quick adaptation.

Immediately after the discussion, in the cozy atmosphere at the Embassy headquarters, the new students were thrilled to experience Vietnamese specialties such as pho, lemon tea, coffee, and peanut candy for the first time. The program was not only an interesting cultural experience but also a warm welcome, leaving a deep impression and sparking a fondness for Vietnam and its people in each student.

The agreement between the two governments on cooperation in higher education was signed in January 2026 to concretize the educational content of the 2007 agreement on cooperation in education and culture, while also meeting the growing and positive development trend of the bilateral relationship between Vietnam and Mozambique.

The newly signed agreement includes various areas of cooperation, such as promoting teaching, research projects, academic exchanges, training, student exchanges, and other fields.
