The Phu Tho Provincial Cultural and Arts Centre has an adjusted total investment of nearly 426 billion VND, built on a land area of nearly 18,000 m². The centre has a seating capacity of about 1,000; its interior is equipped with modern, synchronized sound and lighting systems, fire safety measures, and multiple functional rooms for large-scale performances and events.

A promising destination for events, culture, and exchange

During the inauguration of the Cultural Center, Vice Chairman of the Phu Tho Provincial People's Committee Nguyen Huy Ngoc enthusiastically announced that this project not only creates a modern architectural highlight but also serves as a cultural space of significance, meeting the expectations of many generations of officials and residents in the province. The construction is a crucial step towards realizing the goal of making Phú Thọ a center for organizing national and international cultural and artistic events.

“The Provincial Cultural and Arts Centre is a world-class stage for professional performances, catering to the increasing cultural appreciation of the people; an indispensable cultural-tourism destination on the journey to the roots of the Vietnamese nation,” expressed Vice Chairman Nguyen Huy Ngoc.

After Phu Tho, Vinh Phuc, and Hoa Binh merged under the name Phu Tho, the new province's space expanded with synchronized, modern infrastructure and diverse, advanced resources, creating a strong advantage for new development. The new province boasts two national tourist areas: the Hung King Temple Historical Site and the Tam Dao Tourist Area. In 2022, Tam Dao Tourist Area was honoured by the World Travel Awards as the “World's Leading Tourist Town”. Meanwhile, the Hoa Binh Lake Tourist Area has met the criteria for a national tourist area.

The province currently has 1,520 accommodation facilities with over 20,000 rooms; including 182 hotels, 9 of which are 4-5 star hotels. Additionally, there are 94 travel businesses (15 international travel service companies, 79 domestic travel service companies). Notably, the abundant workforce is well-trained and experienced, ready to organize political events as well as protocol, logistics, and serve domestic and international tourists.

Phu Tho is also a land of culture and relics. Currently, the province is home to nearly 2,000 heritage sites, with the most notable being 5 UNESCO-listed heritages; 2 heritages listed as subjects: the Worship of Hung Kings in Phu Tho, Xoan Singing in Phu Tho; 3 heritages where Phu Tho is a spreading area in multinational dossiers: Tug-of-war Ritual and Games, Ca tru Singing of the Vietnamese, and the Practices of the Vietnamese Belief in the Mother Goddesses of Three Realms; and 41 national intangible cultural heritages.

The archaeological heritage of the merged region is incredibly rich, from Son Vi – Hoa Binh – Phung Nguyen – Dong Dau – Go Mun – Dong Son, creating a continuous picture that confirms this is the cradle of the formation of Van Lang State – the first nation of the Vietnamese people.

The province also hosts a variety of festivals such as: Hung King Temple Festival, Lang Suong Temple Festival, Au Co Mother Temple Festival, Khai ha Muong Bi Festival, Tay Thien Festival, Tro Tram Festival, along with hundreds of other traditional festivals that have become unique spiritual and cultural rendezvous points, attracting millions of visitors. These are great potentials for choosing Phu Tho as a destination for domestic and international events, culture, and exchange.

Meeting all conditions to become a destination for national and international events

Recently, Phu Tho tourism has made significant strides. In the first nine months of 2025, Phu Tho tourism recorded stable growth with an estimated over 12 million visitors, including more than 3.7 million overnight guests, generating a total tourism revenue of nearly 12,320 billion VND. This success stems from a strategic investment in infrastructure and product diversification.

The shift in tourism development thinking in Phu Tho is also a highlight, helping the province become an attractive destination in the northern region. The province focuses on exploiting new, unique products. Spiritual cultural tourism, centered around Hung King Temple and Au Co Mother Temple, is connected with resort, ecological, and wellness tourism. Cultural, sports, and festival events are regularly organized, promoting the image of Dat To (Ancestral Homeland) tourism nationwide and internationally.

The sports sector adds a proud note to the overall picture. With standard infrastructure and proximity to Hanoi, the former Vinh Phuc province is known as a familiar venue for organizing national and international volleyball and marathon competitions. After the merger, in early July 2025, the Vinh Phuc Sports Stadium was again chosen to host the VTV Ferroli Cup 2025 International Women's Volleyball Tournament. The tournament attracted the participation of 8 teams from Vietnam, Australia, China, Russia, Thailand, the Philippines...

In mid-August 2025, the VTV LPBank International Marathon – Rhythm Through Time 2025 was successfully held at Flamingo Dai Lai Resort, gathering over 7,000 runners from 8 countries, competing in 3 distances. The running routes were designed through lush pine forests, along picturesque lakesides, and near unique architectural structures, creating a special, unforgettable impression for the athletes.

Additionally, the former Hoa Binh area has been chosen multiple times to host national and international cycling races. The province has invested in infrastructure, most notably a 7km long terrain racing track and standard road routes to successfully organize the cycling event at the 31st SEA Games in 2022.

These high-profile events affirm Phu Tho's reputation and strength in organizing sports events in particular and events in general. It can be confidently said that Phu Tho meets all transportation, infrastructure, and experience requirements, ready to become a destination for national and international events.
