The event started with PetroVietnam’s Chairman of Board of Directors Tran Sy Thanh acknowledged the significant contributions of local and international partners for the development of PetroVietnam and the country in 2018. As the state-owned enterprise and stakeholder, PetroVietnam highly appreciated the effective efforts and collaboration of all partners in delivering joint oil and gas projects in Vietnam as well as strict compliance with regulations and laws, social activities for the benefit of the community.

PetroVietnam was commited to work together with its partners in dealing with the key challenges facing the industry today and seek for their closely cooperation to complete the set up plans and targets in the coming year 2019. The priorities were on-site projects, application research of innovative solutions to recover more resources and maintain production growth, continuing to launch new management systems, providing rapid responses to the global oil price movements and economic fluctuations while respecting the law and mutually settle any legal proposals and disputes in collaboration.

Speaking at the meeting, Vice Chairman of the State Capital Management Committee Nguyen Thi Phu Ha highly appreciated the meeting in terms of mutual sharing of experience and ideas and looking for the continuous support from local ministries, departments and partners for PetroVietnam in 2019.

The conference also saw President & CEO Nguyen Vu Truong Son shared 2018 business performance report, in which PetroVietnam has fulfilled its production targets and financial goals with consolidated sales revenues of 626,000 billion dong, contribution of 121,300 billion dong to the state budget. Following the success in double pricing IPOs of its subsidiaries BSR, PVOIL and PV Power by end 2017, PetroVietnam continued to attract more international investors, confirming interests in its oil and gas deals in 2018..

During the meeting, President and CEO Nguyen Vu Truong Son has congratulated and recognized the mutual achievements and results, mentioned that the cooperation and support from partners were an integral part of its success in 2018.

In the discussion section, PetroVietnam and partners have shared their practices and experiences in exploring the new demand centres for oil and gas, ways to reduce cost and improve business performance, delivering interests in government priorities to attract more foreign investment in deepwater regions, as well as the progress to improve investment environment in oil and gas industry.

Taking into consideration, President and CEO Nguyen Vu Truong Son said that deepwater exploration and production presented some of the industry most complex challenges but great potential in Vietnam continental shelf and was one of PetroVietnam's priority strategies in the next 20 years.
PetroVietnam was now actively working together with Ministry of Trade and other ministries, departments to accelerate the administration reform and were going to launch the new production sharing contracts, amendments and updates in the Law for oil and gas…, targeting smoothly operations and more investments.
The other key themes were PetroVietnam restructuring, IPOs and divestment in its subsidiaries, the role of the State Capital Management Committee in its business and activities.
On this occasion, PetroVietnam has awarded Certificates for excellent individuals from its operators, contractors and partners who has achieved great success in 2018.
