The project “Building a Database for the Electricity and Renewable Energy Sector of Petrovietnam” was implemented based on the Resolution of the Party Committee and the Decision of the Group's General Director regarding PETROVIETNAM's Digital Transformation Roadmap for the period 2022 - 2026. The system marks a new step in building a centralized data platform to support management, operations, and promote digital transformation at PETROVIETNAM.

Before the system was built, operational data at the plants were spread across various systems, and some reports were still compiled manually. The requirement was to create a platform capable of seamlessly connecting data from plants, member units to the parent company, thereby gradually shifting the management method from decentralized to centralized, from manual compilation to automation, and making data-driven decisions.

On April 8, 2025, PETROVIETNAM and Viettel signed a contract to implement the project. After more than a year of implementation, with the cooperation of the Group's specialized departments, PV Power, PVPGB, power plants, and Viettel, the project completed the workload as per the contract. The server system, secure connections between the parent company and units, power plants were established; performance testing, information security, user acceptance testing, and technology transfer training for the operational team were completed.

Notably, after the implementation process, the system has formed a centralized data repository, connecting 1,685 real-time data tags from six major power plants; automating the collection of 455 indicators, including 114 gas power indicators, 253 coal power indicators, and 88 management indicators. Consequently, the time to compile some reports for operations has been reduced from several days to a few hours, enabling leaders at all levels to access information more quickly and intuitively.

The system has completed 7/7 modules, connecting data from PV Power and PVPGB power plants to the Group; supporting real-time operational monitoring, automating management reports, tracking business activities, electricity market, costs, economic-technical norms, fuel, and inventory materials.

Nghiem Xuan Hoang, Deputy Head of the Electricity and Renewable Energy Department of PETROVIETNAM, stated that a significant result of the project is the formation of a centralized data repository, creating seamless connectivity from the Group to units and power plants.
