The Mid-Autumn Festival 2026 program attracted over 500 Vietnamese attendees in Frankfurt, including children, creating a lively, warm, and culturally rich celebration.

Speaking at the event, Consul General Luu Xuan Dong expressed his delight in celebrating a joyful, warm, and meaningful Mid-Autumn Festival with the community and children.

The Consul General emphasized that the Mid-Autumn Festival is not only an occasion for children to play but also an opportunity for families to meet and interact, thereby strengthening the bonds and unity within the Vietnamese community in Germany.

The Consul General affirmed that through community activities like the Mid-Autumn Festival, the Consulate General aims to preserve, promote, and spread the beautiful traditional cultural values of Vietnam, particularly to the younger generations, the second and third generations of Vietnamese in Germany. Additionally, this is an opportunity to introduce the beauty of Vietnamese culture to German friends, thereby contributing to nurturing the friendship and good relations between Vietnam and Germany.

This year's program featured a variety of engaging activities. Children had the chance to color, decorate, and assemble lanterns, participate in lion dances, enjoy cultural performances, and read poetry contributed by the Vietnamese Language Class, the Vietnamese Student Association in Frankfurt, the Mifafa Women's Association, poet Truong Anh Tu, and many community members.

The festive atmosphere was further enlivened by group games such as tug-of-war, lantern parades, and enjoying mooncakes, attracting enthusiastic participation from both children and parents, who together enjoyed the traditional Mid-Autumn Festival atmosphere in the heart of Germany.

Within the program's framework, the Viet-Space Association in Frankfurt was officially launched. The association will continue to collaborate with the Consulate General in organizing and gradually expanding the Nang Viet Vietnamese Language Class, creating more opportunities for young Vietnamese generations in Germany to learn and use Vietnamese, while also delving deeper into their homeland's culture and traditions.

The Mid-Autumn Festival 2026 not only brought joy to children but also became a communal celebration, contributing to strengthening bonds, connecting generations, and preserving Vietnamese cultural identity within the Vietnamese community in Germany.
