Specifically, the National Assembly voted to pass the resolution approving the Prime Minister's proposal to appoint several ministers for the 2021-2026 term, including Le Hoai Trung as Minister of Foreign Affairs, Tran Duc Thang as Minister of Agriculture and Environment, and Do Thanh Binh as Minister of Home Affairs.
The results are as follows: 427 delegates participated in the vote (accounting for 90.08% of the total number of National Assembly delegates); among them, 427 delegates agreed (accounting for 90.08% of the total number of National Assembly deputies and 100% of the deputies present).
Le Hoai Trung approved as Minister of Foreign Affairs
Le Hoai Trung, born in 1961, from Hue City. He is a member of the 12th and 13th Central Party Committee, Secretary of the 13th Central Party Committee (since October 2023), and a deputy of the 15th National Assembly.
Le Hoai Trung has extensive experience at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, having held positions such as Deputy Director-General of the Department of International Organizations, Deputy Head of the Permanent Mission of Vietnam to the United Nations, Acting Director-General, and then Director-General of the Department of International Organizations, Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
In December 2010, he was appointed Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs.
From March 2021, he was assigned and appointed as Head of the Party Central Committee's External Relations Commission.
In February 2025, he was appointed as Chief of the Central Office of the Party.
On August 29, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh signed Decision No. 1868/QĐ-TTg to transfer Le Hoai Trung, Secretary of the Central Party Committee, Chief of the Central Office of the Party, to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, assigning him as Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, and now he has been approved by the National Assembly as Minister of Foreign Affairs.
