In his opening speech, Kanagawa Governor Kuroiwa Yuji expressed gratitude to the leadership of Hanoi People's Committee and the people of Hanoi for their support and collaboration in organizing this grand and meaningful festival.
Governor Kuroiwa Yuji stated that since 2015, Kanagawa Prefecture and Vietnam have built a very good relationship, organizing many cultural festivals connecting Vietnam with Japan in general and Kanagawa in particular.
Kanagawa Festival 2025 is a significant event taking place in the autumn. Governor Kanagawa hopes the festival will attract tens of thousands of Vietnamese and Japanese to come together, share, and learn more about the cultures of the two countries.

Sharing the joy with the Governor of Kanagawa, Vice Chairman of Hanoi People's Committee Nguyen Manh Quyen stated that Vietnam and Japan are important strategic partners with a long history of people-to-people exchanges and practical cooperation in many fields. On this foundation, Hanoi City and Kanagawa Province have promoted connections and exchanges through leadership delegation exchanges and jointly organized cultural exchange events.
The Vice Chairman shared that the Kanagawa Festival in Hanoi has become a prominent cultural exchange activity between Hanoi and Kanagawa Province, eagerly anticipated by the people of the capital. It contributes to bringing the image and cultural uniqueness of Kanagawa closer to the people of Hanoi, while also introducing the beauty of Vietnamese culture to Japanese friends.
Vice Chairman Nguyen Manh Quyen is confident that, with mutual trust and the cooperation results affirmed through many festival seasons, the Kanagawa Festival in Hanoi will continue to thrive, becoming a symbol of cultural exchange between Hanoi and Kanagawa, making a practical contribution to the increasingly deep and substantive Vietnam-Japan friendship.

As a guest of the ceremony, Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ta Quang Dong shared that Kanagawa Festival 2025 marks its sixth edition, highlighting a strong and effective cooperation journey between Kanagawa Prefecture's government and Hanoi, the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and related agencies in Vietnam.
The festival not only enriches the spiritual life of the capital's residents but also strengthens the friendship and development cooperation between the two countries, especially in the fields of culture, tourism, and people-to-people exchanges.

Kanagawa Festival 2025 in Hanoi takes place over two days, November 15-16, at Tran Nhan Tong Walking Space - Thong Nhat Park. The event features 35 booths, including 25 commercial and 10 culinary booths, along with cultural experience areas, traditional games, traditional costume spaces (yukata), photo spots with Torii gate symbols, and a "cherry blossom road" – offering a distinctly Japanese experience in the heart of Hanoi.
On the central stage, audiences will immerse themselves in the Awa Odori festival dance, participate in quizzes about Kanagawa, enjoy performances by Vietnamese and Japanese artists, experience anime-manga culture, and engage in various activities for families and youth. Additionally, the exhibition booths showcasing Kanagawa's specialty products, tourism routes, education-study abroad opportunities, and technology-services will provide the capital's public with a comprehensive view of this culturally rich and creative region.
