Connecting the young overseas Vietnamese generation with their homeland
Within the program's framework, delegates and camp participants engaged in various enriching and practical activities, combining traditional education, exploration of national history and culture, community exchanges, and hands-on experiences.
Notably, the journey to Con Dao provided the participants with emotional and memorable experiences. They visited Hang Duong Cemetery, respectfully offering incense and lighting candles to honor heroes and martyrs; explored historical sites, Con Dao prison, and met with, inquired about, and presented gifts to former political prisoners.
Through these activities, the participants gained a deeper understanding of the nation's struggle for independence and freedom, appreciating the value of peace, independence, and freedom; thereby fostering love for their homeland and pride in their Vietnamese roots.
Additionally, cultural exchanges, group activities, exploring Ho Chi Minh City, and connecting with local youth created an environment for participants to get acquainted, share, and form lasting relationships within the global young Vietnamese community.
Nurturing a love for Vietnamese culture
One of the important goals of the Overseas Vietnamese Youth Summer Camp 2026 is to contribute to preserving the Vietnamese language, cultural identity, and the nation's fine traditions among the young overseas Vietnamese generation.

Through experiential and exchange activities, Vietnamese was not only used as a means of communication but also became a bridge helping participants understand more about the history, culture, people, and traditional values of their homeland.
The summer camp also provided an opportunity for participants to realize that, despite living in different countries, young overseas Vietnamese remain an inseparable part of the Vietnamese national community; the homeland is always a place to return, connect, and contribute.
Accompanying the young overseas Vietnamese generation
Speaking at the Closing Ceremony, a representative of the Organizing Committee emphasized that the Summer Camp is not only an exchange and recreational activity for young overseas Vietnamese but also a space to connect generations, foster affection for the homeland, and lay the foundation for a long-term bond between the young overseas Vietnamese generation and the country.
In the context of implementing Resolution No. 23-NQ/TW dated August 2, 2026, of the Politburo on the work of overseas Vietnamese, the work of caring for, connecting, and promoting the role of the young generation is of even greater significance.
From the methods of mobilization, gathering, and care, the work of overseas Vietnamese is now placed under new requirements to accompany, create mechanisms, and effectively utilize the resources of the overseas Vietnamese community, in which the young generation is an important force for long-term connection between the community and the homeland.
Ho Chi Minh City is determined to continue innovating methods to connect young overseas Vietnamese, enhancing the application of digital transformation, expanding exchange programs, Vietnamese language education, cultural and historical experiences, and creating more opportunities for the young overseas Vietnamese generation to study, research, innovate, start businesses, and contribute to the City and the country.

Concluding one journey, opening new connections
The Closing Ceremony of the Overseas Vietnamese Youth Summer Camp and Ho Chi Minh City Youth 2026 not only marked the end of an experiential journey but also opened a new journey – a journey of love for the homeland, pride in one's roots, and the responsibility of the young Vietnamese generation worldwide.
The memories, friendships, and experiences in Ho Chi Minh City, Con Dao, and historical sites will become valuable baggage for participants to carry with them when they return to where they live.
The Organizing Committee hopes each participant will become a young ambassador of Vietnamese culture and image, continuing to spread the Vietnamese language, stories about the homeland, and good values to international friends.
The Overseas Vietnamese Youth Summer Camp Ho Chi Minh City 2026 concludes, but the journey to connect with the homeland continues from the heart of every young Vietnamese around the world.
