Attending the ceremony were Mr. Duong Quoc Huy, Member of the Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Lao Cai Provincial Party Committee, who is visiting and working in Russia; Vietnamese Ambassador to Russia Dang Minh Khoi; Chairman of the Union of Vietnamese Organizations in Russia Do Xuan Hoang, along with embassy staff and representatives of the Vietnamese community across generations.
In his speech at the ceremony, Ambassador Dang Minh Khoi emphasized the sacred and profound significance of the Hung Kings’ Commemoration for all Vietnamese, especially those living far from their homeland.
The Ambassador affirmed that no matter where they are, the spirit of returning to their roots, national pride, and the responsibility to preserve cultural identity always bind the Vietnamese community together. He regarded the organization of the commemoration in Russia as an occasion to honor the merits of the Hung Kings and educate the younger generation about the nation's historical and cultural traditions in the multicultural environment of their host country.
On behalf of the community, Mr. Do Xuan Hoang expressed his emotions over the enthusiastic response from the compatriots, stating that the large presence of the Vietnamese diaspora on this day is a vivid testament to the solidarity and enduring vitality of the Vietnamese community in Russia.
He highlighted that building a united, strong, and well-integrated community in the host country, while always looking towards the homeland and actively contributing to the nation, is a practical way to honor the ancestors and affirm the position of the Vietnamese in the land of the White Nights.
In a solemn and reverent atmosphere, the delegation and fellow Vietnamese offered incense, flowers, and offerings at the altar of the National Ancestors. Together, they reminisced about the tradition of building and defending the country from the time of the Hung Kings and recalled President Ho Chi Minh’s teaching: “The Hung Kings founded the nation, we must together preserve it.” Representatives of the organizing committee solemnly read the memorial oration, expressing gratitude to the ancestors and the heartfelt wishes of those living abroad who always look towards their ancestors and national roots.
In discussions on the sidelines of the ceremony, representatives of Vietnamese associations in Moscow and other localities shared that over the years, the Hung Kings’ Commemoration has become a highlight in the spiritual life of the community. It is not only an occasion for gathering and reunion but also a platform for connecting generations of the Vietnamese diaspora.
In Russia, from Moscow to St. Petersburg and many other localities, the Vietnamese community maintains the commemoration of the National Ancestors in various rich forms, thereby spreading the image of a united, diligent Vietnamese community that always cherishes its roots and actively integrates and contributes to both the host country and the homeland.
The ceremony concluded in a warm, friendly atmosphere with traditional dishes and stories about the homeland, leaving a positive impression on Russian friends and partners attending.
For the Vietnamese community in Russia, the Hung Kings’ Commemoration 2026 once again affirms the pride of being descendants of Lac and Hong and the determination to preserve and pass on the cultural identity and patriotic, benevolent traditions of the Vietnamese people in a foreign land.
