Ambassador Dang Minh Khoi visits Leningrad Oblast, promotes local cooperation
WVR - From May 15–17, at the invitation of the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Leningrad Oblast Governor A.Y. Drozdenko, Vietnamese Ambassador to the Russian Federation Dang Minh Khoi and his spouse paid a working visit to Leningrad Oblast, together with diplomatic delegations from Laos, Mongolia, China, Cuba, Rwanda and other countries.

The visit was organized by the Leningrad Oblast authorities and the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs to explore development potential and discuss directions for economic-trade cooperation, logistics, investment, culture, and people-to-people exchanges between Leningrad Oblast and international partners.
The diplomatic delegation attended a three-day series of activities, focusing on the seminar “Leningrad Oblast – A Wide-Open Door for Cooperation: Dialogue between Government, Enterprises, and Diplomatic Delegations” and a meeting with Leningrad Oblast Governor A.Y. Drozdenko. The main topics of discussion were export routes, logistics solutions, and coordination mechanisms in foreign trade activities.
Leningrad Oblast leaders participated in discussions with the delegation and emphasized the role of international cooperation in the local economic development.
During the meetings, Vietnamese Ambassador to Russia Dang Minh Khoi praised the potential of Leningrad Oblast; affirmed Vietnam's interest and desire to establish twinning relations with Russian localities, including Leningrad; welcomed and supported the proposal to twin with Quang Tri Province by the Leningrad authorities; and informed about the planned visit of Da Nang City to Leningrad Oblast at the end of June, expressing the wish to sign a cooperation MOU between the Da Nang City People's Council and the Leningrad Oblast Legislative Assembly. He also suggested the provincial authorities to facilitate and support the Da Nang delegation's visit in the near future.

Representatives of the diplomatic delegations also discussed potential cooperation directions with Leningrad Oblast, highlighting significant opportunities in economic, trade, investment, logistics, culture, and tourism exchanges.
During the visit, Ambassador Dang Minh Khoi and representatives from diplomatic missions attended the "Korushka Fish Season Has Arrived" festival – an annual traditional culinary-tourism festival of Leningrad Oblast, visited the Staraya Ladoga Fortress, the "Broken Ring" memorial, and notable economic and cultural facilities of Leningrad Oblast.

The working visit of Ambassador Dang Minh Khoi and his spouse to Leningrad Oblast took place in the context of the ongoing positive development of Vietnam-Russia relations, where cooperation between localities of the two countries plays an increasingly important role in deepening the Vietnam-Russia Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.
Participation in activities in Leningrad Oblast contributes to enhancing mutual understanding, expanding substantive connections, and exploring further cooperation opportunities between Vietnam and localities of the Russian Federation.
